Oh, I love that story about your daughter M! That is so funny! I can just imagine her on on the price is right or something, no thanks bob, I don't want the car but I'll take some water instead, I'm parched.
My son is the same way, very outspoken about his needs. Some of the older folks around here hand out traditional food like smoked salmon or fry bread on halloween instead of candy. My son is like "NO, your supposed to give me candy. wheres the candy?"
Have a good few days of rest and try not to go bonkers. Maybe you could take up swimming for a few days (just don't tell your daughter your going...or you know she'll give you her expert advice).
My daughter is just the opposite-I had to yell at her to say Trick or Treat loud so the people can hear her, the same with Thank You! I hope she grows out of this because she is 10 now and I don't see this phobia letting up (talking to people)-I tell her all the time to speak up and be polite-to the point that I am a nag.I feel bad for her because she turns white and struggles to respond to questions. What do you think?
your a Momma
I hope the rest is favorable to you and certainly sounds justifiable. Remember you talked me through my rest and it paid off in spades for me.
I still use the ice bottle a lot of days post-walk as preventive maintenance, not so much for pain itself. I still have tender days but nowhere near like it was pre-rest. I know this sucks but PLEASE don't jump back on the walking wagon until you're 100% sure you're healed - PLEASE !!
Hello M2M,
LOL that was cuite Megan asking for water instaed on
candy.Lol my son went to a house and they handed him a FRISCHES
coupon good for a kids meal & drink and he siad gosh mom why are they
giving paper out and not candy lol I explained what the paper was and
he was happy plus he still said thank you.
As for your foot take it easy incase it is something serious that can keep
you off your feet even longer if you keep walking on it!Maybe just stick
with the healthy eating and maybe do some crunches if you feel the
need to exersice Have a gr8 day Tammy

There's always 'etc' to tide you over hehe....
I second this advice....especially the part about resting...and getting "etc" as a substitute workout!
Hi there, havent been around regularly...My youngest wanted to walk into the houses...LOL...she had prblems knocking loudly but had no prob saying trick or treat and entering their homes...
Sooo, I am *bowing to you* I finally made it to my local regional park...the loop and the second loop add up to 2 miles...I walked this in 40 mins...but WOW if you walk 5 miles in under 60 mins, WOW is all I have to say....*BOW**BOW* BOW*...and let me add I walk fast and push my 40 lber in her stroller, I cant believe what you walk...no wonder you are loosing so much weight!!! I do too - what's funny, is that to a kid, she doesn't see anything wrong with it - I mean, she's going from house to house asking for candy, what's wrong with asking for water too

Thanks Mechelle, and you're right about that - the redness on the back of my right heel is going away, there's still pain on the bottom of my heel, if I step on it just wrong it sends me through the roof - but the pain across the top of my right foot is definitely improving!

Too funny! They can be so melodramatic, can't they?

Oh that's hilarious!! The kids are so black and white too - it's *supposed* to be a certain way! I have some Vietnamese friends who hate turkey. Every year they have to fix it for Thanksgiving because the kids will not consider eating anything else...

LOL! She was just asking me tonight if I will PLEEEEAAASEEE swim with her. I told her I might, but she could not spend the whole time telling me everything I'm doing wrong!

I know, but I also remember how difficult it was for you - it doesn't help, I'm now suffering from a condition that makes walking AND sitting unbareable - I'm new to this getting old business and let me tell you - IT'S NOT PRETTY!

Yeah, well, that might be out for awhile too - so without any form of exercise AND 5 billion pounds of candy in my house, I'm dooooomed!

LOL! Now how did I know I'd get that kind of endorsement from you???

Interesting - the quoting all from above left out my responses to a few people - I had hit the 10 smilie limit, and maybe I accidentally deleted them when I was deleting smilies!?!

Have a great day!
You know your daughter better then anyone, and I'm sure you're a great mom, I just have to remind myself that Megan is a person first, my daughter second - I can't nag her the same way I couldn't nag Bob - it just wouldn't help her in the long run!

That reminded me, when Meg was little she would go into people's houses too and then ask for a "tour"

Good for you for going 2 miles!! I have no doubt that given time, you time will get faster! And you've got the added benefit of a stroller and an extra 40 pounds! That's bound to burn some extra calories!! Not even counting how many times you have to bend over to pick up whatever gets hurled from the moving vehicle! At least that's the way it worked when I used to push a stroller!

Kdel, if you don't mind, I'll share my two cents in your diary. I was very shy as a child and so is my older daughter. You really can't change her, just try to understand her. More over at your diary....
M2M I hope all is great with you. I hope to catch up soon.
