Rep Power: 0 | | CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU ARE DOING GREAT!
How nice to have the problem of not eating enough calories, eh? What kind of pedometer do you use? I bought one, but I think it is too cheap or something. It counts every little movement I make as a step.
Keep up the good work. You make me want to get out and walk more. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Well done on the 3lb loss!!
Morning exercise is great for motivation, plus if you work out in the morning, it raises your metabolism and you actually burn more cals the rest of the day doing your normal stuff!!! A very good reason to work out in the am if I ever heard one |

Rep Power: 83 | | Oh, I have been LOVING my morning walk
This morning I walked 3.30 miles and according to my pedometer, burned 732 calories. I don't know how accurate is, since I am now 12 pounds lighter then when I first programmed it!! Of course, I haven't found the directions again, so I'm not sure how to reset the weight for stride measurement. I don't know the brand name on the pedometer, I've thrown the packaging away, and it doesn't say, there is a button on the left to set your weight & height, a mode button in the middle that toggles between steps, calories burned, kms and miles, and a reset button on the right. It doesn't count every movement, but it does count every step.
If I counted all the cherries I ate yesterday correctly, my intake was 1441 calories. It's the highest day I've had, but with the walk and how little I ate the day before, I felt hungry all day!
I'm off to make my Sunday breakfast Hashbrowns and eggs
Have a GREAT day!! |

Rep Power: 83 | | Well, I don't think my pedometer is all that accurate in the calorie department. I just googled walking, distance & calories, and a more realistic amount of calories burned for 3.3 miles in an hour seems to be in the 450 range. Or roughly, 100 calories per mile for a person 160 pounds, so at my height & weight I would say maybe 150 calories per mile...
Tis a bummer, but it was like getting a free breakfast |

Rep Power: 83 | | Summer - you're too funny! I can just see "M2M Weather" being the new description for the accuweather forecast
C - You're not a wuss! Especially if you're out there doing it!
The walking has been great for me because I know a friend of mine is leaving her house at 6:30 am walking towards me, and I leave at 6:30 walking towards her. By 6:45-6:50 I've passed the mile mark and we meet. I then turn around and she walks with me about .75 mile and she turns around and heads home and I go my way. This morning, at the .75 mark, I turned with her and walked her back about .5 mile which gave me the extra mile this morning.
I can't believe how good I feel when I get home! I so did not want to walk today - At 5:45 when I woke up I told myself I shouldn't "have" to walk on Sunday, that I should have at least one day of rest. At 6:00 when I got out of bed, I still didn't want to walk, but knew I'd be happy when I got home.
When I left the house at 6:30, I was excited to be walking towards my friend knowing she would be walking towards me Being back home by 7:30 has been a great way to start the day and feel motivated to stick to my goals...because hey, if I were to go over my plan, then why bother walking at 6:30 in the first place! Or at least these are the things that go through my head during the day.
It really hit home to me today why losing weight is harder the closer to your goal you get - I guess I never thought about it before. I CAN lose 3 pounds a week for awhile because based on my weight and calorie needs, I can reduce my calories by 1500 a day and still be in the 1200 range for the day. I won't be able to do that at 200 pounds, or 175, or 160. I guess I never did the math on that before. |
