M2M, I believe I can hear a song in your voice and that's music to my ears!!! You feel good about yourself and it's making you continue to strive towards your goals. And that is so inspirational to everyone on this board. It makes us think, man we can do that too!!!!
isn't that the best feeling when you feel SO tired in the morning and dont want to get up to exercise, but you do it anyway and when you're done you not only feel good physically from exercising, but mentally also from knowing that you could have slept in but chose to get up and move your butt instead? i had one of those moments this morning. woke up at 6:30 and dragged myself to the gym. i hate doing it, but when i'm done and home i'm so happy. congrats on your walk!

Hey M2M, it is so great to hear you being so positive, and you should be. You are doing really well. And you should definitely take those pictures in the two piece swimsuit. You wouldn't have to post them until you had your after photos, and by that point you wouldn't care what you looked like before. You will just be so proud of what you have achieved, and glad to be able to compare I'm sure!!
Good Morning
I just got back from my walk - 3.5 miles.
Yesterday's calorie total is ummm...unknown.
Before dinner I was at 520 calories and then I went for Mexican food - I had the Carne Asada, and ate the beans, enchilada (beef) and some chips and salsa. I'm figuring at the very worse, it was 2000 calories. Combined with 520 for the day would still put me about 200 calories under mainenance. It was nice to go out with my family - we then saw Piarates but it is annoying to me that I didn't stop eating when I first felt full. I KNOW better - and felt miserable all through the movie because of it. Live and learn I'm glad we don't go out to eat often!
Scarlett - this board itself is so inspirational to me! I read all the stories and see how hard everyone is working towards their goal, and I can't help but feel good about this process. It's like reclaiming something in my life I apparently lost. Self control, and with it, Self Respect! We all CAN do this!!
Summer, you're right about how good it feels when we come back after not wanting to excercise, but we do! I have also found it puts me in a great frame of mind to take on the day
Carpe Diem!
C - we're all going to be big losers after this challenge, all the teams and I LOVE it!
Oh M2M! It's OK that you went out for Mexican food! (hehehehe) Lol! Sorry. No, seriously! It's not like you do it often. It's not going to kill you to enjoy yourself once in awhile.
Oh, I know HH, I don't do it often (and I forgot to mention the *3* tortillas I had with dinner - what, another 450 calores!) EEK!
But you're right, I don't do it often. It wasn't so much what I ate that bothered me, it was that I knew I was getting full and didn't stop. That's the kind of control I want to master
At least I have the misery of how I felt during the movie to remind me next time!
that is the hardest thing to master... but you're aware of it -- so it should become easier with time.. don't beat yourself up.. awareness is a huge step..
It is a really tough thing to control. I do the same thing sometimes, and I'm very near my goals after a long journey. I still don't know how to stop when I'm getting full. If I don't decide before I eat how much or little I'm going to strictly stick to, I can't figure out when I need to stop. I'm still working on that, and I really think that's going to be very important when it's time for me to maintain my weight. Make that a RARE occurrence, and you can still make progress. No worries! Oh, yeah, and carpe diem right back at ya!
I've said it before and I'll say it again .... there is NOTHING wrong with a maintenance day!! I really believe it does us all a world of good, and according to what Scarlett has just put in her diary, it is good to have the odd day with higher calories because it boosts your metabolism
I think of it like this: We live in a world that may involve going out to dinner once in a while, but if you mind how much you eat and what you eat while you are out, it can be done.
Plus we all have to learn from our mistakes and you have a really great attitude that will help with that.
Oooo! Mrs B - I have to go read what Scarlett wrote about maintenance days!
Mal, you're right, it is a hard step and awareness is truly the first step
Miss P - You really are close to your goal - I like what you said about planning before hand. I planned about what I was having, but hadn't considered how MUCH or when to stop. I'm definitely going to keep it in mind in the future.
In Twins thread, we were talking about our red heads and I decided to post two pictures of mine, one from a few years ago, but it's my favorite picture, and one from her swim team.
My screen name of m2m actually stands for mom2meg, which I use everywhere!
I can see why that is your favorite pic. What great colors and light - and a real cutie! Yep, these little redheaded girls are going to be the death of us come teen years!!!!
