Well, it's not something I would do on such a regular basis if it wasn't for my 84 y/o mother-in-law, but it's about the only reason she leaves the house. So we get manicures and pedicures every two weeks.

A ridiculous indulgence, but she loves it and it gives the 3 generations of us some time together.

I was looking at my nails yesterday and i really need a manicure but i keep breaking nails so they have to grow a bit more (I never ever thought i'd hear myself say - i needed a manicure -i was a lifelong member of the biter club ).. i'd be too embarassed to have anyone touch my stinky feet

nice to have that family bonding time

Now see...I could live without the acrylics...but the pedicure - I don't think I'll EVER give those up

ooh, I love mani's and pedi's! My nail lady up and left town, leaving 1000+ women with nobody to do their nails. My tips came off a few weeks ago and I've been starring at my god aweful ugly nails ever since. I miss my silk tips. *pouts* have fun getting pampered Deb, and know that I am totally green with envy.

I know, we used to have a few but then they started having babies and getting asthma...well, you know...the herd thinned and then there was none. We are a pathetic short ugly nailed lot around these parts.

i've just recently come on board with the whole nails thing (I've had two manicures in my life and both were this year -I think i need a few more years for the pedicure thing)

I still havent bought into the whole massage thing either -I give a great one-i hate getting them..

I don't know...how about you mention to somebody that theres a whole town up north with no nail lady...there are millions to be made here! I swear! And if she babysits on the side...

It takes a long time to get used to a manicurist/pedicurist!

Mal - I'm telling you...you gotta try it...a couple of times AND get either polka dots, leapord prints or flowers on your tonails!

Haha! your diary is unbelieveable girly today. I'm having a shitty day, so all this talk of pampering was just what I needed. Although, it sort of depresses me because I know a pedicure would do me good, but I'm ridiculously poor right now. That's how you know the end of the semester is nearing.

I have very nice fingernails and I'm really proud of them. They're strong, so they grow nice and long on their own. I just do some buffing and add a little clear polish to pretty them up. I don't get to grow them long as often as I'd like because I'm not allowed to wear long nails at the hospital.
