And, you know, I really thought long and hard about how to phrase that particular sentence. All I kept thinking about were the women who used to be in the wet tshirt contests back when I used to go to chili cook offs, and well, they were in tshirts for a reason, and even if they HAD a bathing suit on underneath, I don't think it would have hid anything very well
Hope you have a great time at the water park. You're right, most of the food choices there will probably be pretty bad...but I'm sure there will be a salad or some protein to be had. You'll do just fine!!! Most of all enjoy yourself!
I think places that sell only high calorie, high fat food should not be able to tell people they can't bring food into their establishments especially if it is somewhere you are going to be spending the whole day. I'm writing my congresswoman!
Have a great time at the "fun" park. Twin will keep you in line to reach your Aug 23rd goal!
Well said Pineola, I'm sure in the future when society finally accepts what huge problems bad diet and being overweight cause, things will change. But in the mean time we will just have to bide out time .
well i hope you had fun at the park? and i'm sure you made healthy choices
the swim meet sounds crazy...i hate it when i forget to bring food or something and am stuck with whats around me. maybe that's why i quit working at Coldstone Creamery (that was the worst..it always smells like Santa's little workshop in there)
Just wondering how the park was.....did you do the wet t-shirt over the bathing suit thing? And if so, it may be wise to withhold that info from T2 Trucker!!!!
Hi Everyone,
I survived the 4th! Eek - what a week this has been.
I have been house/pet sitting for some clients this week, and one of their 3 dogs has been really ill. She's suffering from Acute Kidney Failure, and she only has one kidney to begin with. She's been in a 24 hour care facility, but I brought her home the night of the 3rd, hoping the home environment would give her the motivation she needs to eat. Unfortunately, by the morning of the 4th, it was pretty clear that it wasn't 'enough'. So we took her back. The owners come home tonight, and the plan is for them to bring the dog home, spend one night with her and then take her to the family vet tomorrow morning. It's been a tough few days!
In between taking shifts with the dog between Bob and I, we were able to get Megan to the parade she was in yesterday, and then later to a BBQ and firework display - I feel like I need a vacation
Because there was only one of us with Meg for the parade, I ended up walking with her and then we had to walk back to where we parked, all in all, it was 3 miles in extreme heat on two and a half hours sleep. Then after the BBQ, we watched the fireworks on a lake, that didn't start until 10:00 pm because of electronic difficulties with the highlight of the evening being the barge that holds the fireworks catching fire!
Needless to say, I'm glad this part of the week is BEHIND me!
I've been eating 'alright' but I haven't been careful about counting calories, it's just too hard when I'm away from home.
Yesterday wasn't too bad, two beers, one glass of wine, two bites of a chicken thigh, about 6 pork ribs, one brownie, some corn chips & salsa - I'm not going to bother with the calories
Today has been better - It's 3:09 pm and I'm up to 465 calories for the day with room for a snack and dinner.
I'm off to check on diaries now, hope you're all doing well
Sorry you've had such a stressful and what sounds like physically draining weekend. Wishing you a good sleep tonight so that you will feel fresh and energized in the morning.
