John weighed himself today and although he wanted to be at 480 he was at 482 which was still down 4 pounds since the last time he weighed himself. I tried to reassure him that he has lost fat and turned it into muscle but I don't know if he believed me...at least he still lost some numbers on the scale. Pretty soon we won't have to go to GNC for him to weigh himself....ok in about 130 pounds but hopefully that will fall off of him soon.
Edit: I've been looking at my vitamin intake over the past few weeks and it wasn't great, I started taking a daily vitamin (my husband laughs because I'm taking those yummy flintstone vitamins--yes they are good for adults too) but I noticed that I didn't get nearly enough calcium every day. I was at about 25% and your supposed to have over 1000 as a RDA...so I got this stuff called Viactiv. It's a calcium supplement that freakin' tastes like delicious yummy chocolate. I guess if you haven't noticed I don't like just swallowing pills, it actually makes me gag so yeah I've found some great tasting and effective vitamins! I wanted to spread the word!
Off to the gym to do a bunch of extra exercises today because I treated myself to a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (i'm so saving the other one for another day). I haven't had chocolate in a month---yummmmmmmy!!!! I totally felt guilty about it too...even though I budgeted for it in my calories and I'm still at 1214 calories for the day---John doesn't even know I bought it. I think it might be too much of a temptation for him. So yep, an extra mile or so on the bike and maybe 150 situps today instead of 130--maybe more.

Rep Power: 0 | | Hooray for you for setting the bar high! I'm a theater "hobbiest" (too hard to make a living acting/directing) and I've directed kids in plays. I learned the first time to set the bar high...they'll rise to the occassion! I think people and parents don't expect nearly enough from kids these days. It seems we have to protect them from so many things, that sometime we tend to protect them from themselves...if you know what I mean!!
I would agree with Wishes...set the bar high for yourself! Look at what you've already accomplished: Fantastic!! |

Rep Power: 31 | | | I agree. Parents coddle their kids with freakin' everything...give them what ever they want just to shut them up...it's ridiculous.
It's nice to see another theatre buff on the forum....I might pick your brain for some ideas later in the year! |

Rep Power: 0 | | you should tell john for us that 4 pounds is still ALOT of pounds. And that he should be proud of himself regardless.
I take a daily multivitamin and calcium tablets every day too Kaitie. I'm glad to see you're doing the same. It's especially important for us girls to get the extra calcium.
Have fun at the gym! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | I would agree...give him two sacks of flour, 2lbs each. Showing him how much 4 lbs is, in his hands, may have a stronger impact on him.
How great that you two are a team, working together...giving and taking the support as needed! It's an enviable situation! |

Rep Power: 31 | | ^Maybe you can just ask the butcher to 'hold the lard' for while...
Today's been fine, resisted eating some form of custardy substance that looked freakin' awesome (of course, I didn't have any money so that helped too!). Exercised and drank my water. The puppy is going psycho over a box on the deck--I swear everything is a toy and can ultimately be eaten to him. |

Sounds like your puppy is definitely being a puppy. Its fun to watch them like that, but can also be draining, b/c you have to watch out for anything you don't want to be turned into a toy. |

Rep Power: 31 | | ^ So true!! He plays with my socks, he eats the cats poop out of the litter boxes (totally gross) and he eats the cats food--although the cats eat the dogs food so I guess turn about if fair play.
Today was good. I took out an old XL shirt and tried it on...low and behold it fits--bye bye 2X's, never ever again. A large fits me well until it hits my tummy....it's still to tight for me to feel comfortable in, I hate it when people try to squeeze into clothes that are too small for them and then they look like the stay puff marshmellow man---bulges and flab hangin' out everywhere. Anyway...soon enough I'll be a skinny minny. I don't know if my chest will ever let me get to a medium but I'll take a large--I'm kindof hoping that my boobs will start to shrink soon. I swear they feel like they weigh 20 pounds. Exercises were good: 6 miles on the stationary bike, 150 sit-ups, 30 chest presses, and 25 over head things. John and I have lost a combined total of 22 pounds--I really can't wait to see him in December when he's 50-60 pounds lighter. I can already see a difference in his chest and legs.
Ok, I'm done rambling. |

I know what you mean about fat people in tight clothes! My mother was embarassing when i was a kid - wore skin tight shirts to emphisize every single roll - it was aweful!
As a consiquence i never wear tight things and i dont own a dress (she always wore tent like long skirts) |

Rep Power: 31 | | Thanks newmom--it's not easy but I'm glad to be there to watch him get skinny!
In the US we call those tent dresses Moo moo's--and my Aunt wore them all the time. (oy vey) I'm glad that I caught my fatness at 204 pounds and didn't wait until it was way out of control (like John--although I don't think I'd ever get that big).
Thanks for stoppin' by and have a great day!! |

Rep Power: 31 | | Today was good, I cleaned off our crappy deck, probably burned off a good 400 calories with all the moving , lifting, and sweeping!!! Exercises were good, 6 miles on the bike and 150 sit-ups. I tried on some old shirts today and they are a little loose on me :O. Pants are still tight around my gut....I guess that's probably the last part of me that's going to shrink but I did see some minor curve in my gut today...like the muscle is building itself, so that's something! I've already decided that I'm going clothes shopping in December...by then I should be way past my goal weight hopefully to about 160 or so. *crosses fingers* | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
