So I heard you mention you eat under 1400 calories... How often do you exercise? How long to do work out for? Do you do all your workouts at the gym or also exercise at home? I want to know - I want to start dropping those lbs too!!!!
I ride a stationary bike; I use a sit-up machine, you sit in it and put your hands on handles above your head and then you push your abs and arms forward to make a sit-up; I just started using a rotary ab machine but I've seen people just hold weights in their hands and turn their waist from side to side; I also do some chest presses where I sit in a chair and push two handles out until my arms are extended in front of me; I do some thing were I sit in a chair and some handles are about parallel with my shoulders and I push them above my head (works the arms) and yesterday I tried the curl machine. I stay at the gym for about an hour (John's training session is an hour) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and about a half an hour on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
I like going to the gym because it feels like theirs a ton on energy in the room and I know its weird but I really love the smell. I really hope that I can keep this up. 1 more pound and I am at the half-way point...weehee!!
Thanks!!! I think I'm done with weight-loss for this week. I'd actually be a little worried if tomorrow the scale says 189---happy but a little skeptical.
I have a question: Ok, so for the last two weeks (not this week) I had been eating a "Lean Cuisine" meal for lunch--and low and behold not an ounce of weight loss. But this week I haven't touched them and I've lost three pounds. Now in all fairness, I did have a lot of chips mixed in with my 1400 calories the last two weeks and I haven't had any this week...so what do you think was preventing the weight loss--the chips or the microwave lunches?
hmmmmmm, chips or lean cuzine, i'd say the chips, but i don't do the lean cuzines but i have done chips, and they are terrible!!! Salty, greasy and fattning ( i could use some right noweeee! ) i am wondering thoe how many calories and carbs are in one of thoes meals?
when i was eating the lean cuisines the weight was really coming off. They got expensive after awhile so i just used them to learn what a portion really was. Its way different than what we call a portion around these parts lol. It could be anything though, we all have our little triggers that stop our weight loss.
I am on the LA weight loss program and they recommend to have the microwaveable meals sparingly. Don't use them as your main source of nutrition. Just once or twice a week in my opinion. Fresh food is always better... Good luck!!
How can you tell they have nothing better to do than piss about all day. Im guessing they dont have 4 kids and a fulltime job hehe.
Crock Pot (or Air Core pots in my case) are amazing thing. Throw a bunch of meat and veg together in the morning and come home from work to a fantastic meal!
Kaitie, I think it is definitely chips possibly in conjunction with lean cuisine. Salty foods make you retain water, that's probably why you did not see any weight loss last week. See how much sodium is in lean cuisine dinners, but I would guess probably much more then in homecooked stuff you eat. Also some people tend to loose weight in chunks, and that's just the way some bodies operate. When stuff like this happens to me, I just attribute it to miriads of complex processes that happen on a daily basis and move on. Sometimes it is possible to explain the water retention, and sometimes it is not. We just cannot know everything that is going on inside and causes one thing or the other.
Thanks for the answers everyone! I'm going to keep a distance from the chips for a while and maybe I'll test out a lean cuisine here and there. The ones that I was eating were low in carbs and calories but I did notice that one or two had some major sodium. I'll just have to be really careful when I pick them out.
GOOD NEWS!!!!!! I know, I've weighed myself every freakin' day this week but......
189 this morning!!!! WAHOO!!! Maybe I'm one of those people that lose it in chunks and not on a steady 2 pound schedule--either way...I'm happy!!! That's four pounds this week!! I'm at my half way point!!! Weehee!!!!
I agree with NothinToLose, I think it was the combination of the chips and the microwave lunches...you had a double whammy on the sodium which probably made you retain water. Being a single mother I have at times relied heavily up on the microwave lunches due to time constraints and I lost weight while doing it. But I wouldn't suggest eating the chips in addition to them because of all the sodium.
I've been taken notice of all the sodium in stuff lately and it's ridiculous. I'm trying to cut back on it but its hard, much harder than I thought it would be. Things I never expected are packed with sodium.
Congrats on the 3 lbs and keep up the good work! (Can you rub your hand on the screen, across my post?...maybe it'll help me lose some! LOL)
