hahaha indeed! I will practice!

Well today i did the usual piece of toast - gym for an hour and half - breakfast at work. Then work shouted us lunch (the monthly developers team lunch) and i kind of went overboard on calories there (unintentionally). Was a nice steak with lots mashed potatos (which i only ate half of) and i skipped the drinks and had water and also bypassed the deep fried onion rings (though that was really hard lol).
Either way i only ended up with 100 calories left for dinner. I kind of skipped dinner because i wasnt hungry because of the lunch - feeling a little peckish now though at 9.51pm. Might have a piece of toast before going to bed.

Had to bake up a storm for the kids school and made about 4 dozen scones including fruit, chocolate, chocolate chip, and cheese scones. Not once was i hungry or eating any of them.

Im definatly seeing my appitite disappearing more and more. And When i used to be able to clear the plate now i cant. In fact i dont seem to even want to anymore either which is fantastic.
Im in a much better mood today than yesterday ehehe.

As I was cooking tonight - a lovely stirfry - I thought I should share this quick and easy low cal healthy food that my sister in law showed me (Shes Thai)
2 eggs in a bowl
fill the bowl with equal amount of water (so its 50/50 egg and water)
teaspoon of soy sauce (or wooster sauce?)
mix the lot up

microwave for 2 mins on high - presto

i know it looks a bit odd but it tastes fantastic and only about 100 calories

Okay since its friday night and im bored shitless im gonna have a rant. This rant is not directed at anyone here on the forums - please do not take it that way (just letting off steam)

WHY do people pay tons of money to go to the gym, they get up at 5am to go in early before work and then just sit there half heartedly doing exercise whilst reading. I mean HELLO! if you arnt breaking a sweat then chances are your eyes are doing more of a workout whilst reading than anything else!
Im a reader - an avid reader. I speed read and can easily read a 300 page book in an hour (20 minutes at my best). If i cant read I go insane so i know what its like to want to read a book and exercise. Ive tried it myself! but it is IMPOSSIBLE to do a PROPER workout and read a book.
And as for that fat chick i see every morning who reads and exercises, why on earth do you waste your time?! She turns the treadmill on and is barely even moving (I shit you not .. its not even a decent walking pace) and does that for 5 minutes before moving to a laying back exercycle for another 5 minutes, then the rowing machine for another 2 minutes maybe all the while sighing loudly and looking determinedly bored and trying to read her book.
I do wonder if she has noticed that whilst she looks the same, ive gone from being HEAPS bigger than her down to a smaller size than her.
And there is this skinny chick, sure she has an ok body - but she is SOOO not toned. everything is just flat, straight. Looks kinda like a popcicle stick. And yet she goes to the gym every morning and again does a half hearted useing the stepper (whilst reading), and then reclined exercycle (reading a book), then some other cardio stuff. Never thinking once that perhaps they might go down to the weights section and actually give their muscles a real workout - or even crank the level up off the lowest.

ok now i have that off my chest, im tired and grumpy and probably shouldnt be posting to forums right now lol.
I take back anything nasty i might have implied! and huges to all *hugs*

I can read while I walk outside, so I'm sure I can do a brisk walk on a treadmill while reading...I'll have to try it and see! But the other stuff? What a waste of money/time!

I can't read and move at the same time...I get motion sickness

The good news about your post is that you can see what needs to happen to them---and you're doing it for yourself. A lot of times we learn a crap load more from people doing the wrong things than the people doing the right things. So brava to you for recognizing the problem!

now Aint that the truth!
I know for a fact that i will never fail in this diet because ive changed. I now look at the idiot i was and wonder why on earth i didnt do this before. If only i knew then what i knew now!
And what makes it worse is that i was teaching my kids the same bad habits. I was in denial! I used to go to the malls and snigger at fat people thinking 'i might be fat but at least im not as fat as her'. Only the current me looks at photos and goes 'OH MY GOD WAS I BLIND!' I was probably fatter! I cant believe i kidded myself and lied to myself so much.
I always prided myself on being very honest with myself - oh boy was i wrong!
Now when i see somebody overweight walking down the street i want to walk up to them and give them a darned good shaking up and teach them a few things!

This is why i know that i cannot possibly fail. Because ive changed - im not that fat person on the inside anymore. Im not kidding myself into thinking such utter crap.
Just to throw in another few ways i kidded myself so we can all have a laugh

1) I thought fat but my fat was proportionally spread so i didnt look as fat (pft!)
2) I knew i was fat but thought i was pretty active and fit for a fat person
3) I ate pretty healthy most of the time (sure i did, i just ate enough for 4 healthy people!)
4) I only ever bought stretchy clothes because they would stretch to my size so i could buy a size smaller, then as they stretched i would tell myself 'oh look how baggy they are now - i must have lost weight!' ( i now own a couple of pairs of non stretch pants!)

It's funny how we can completely convince ourselves that everything is honky dory. (do you have that phrase in NZ?) I do believe that I've thought every single one of those things that you did. "I'm fat but pfft look at her!" "OMG how did he let himself get that fat" "Oh, she'd be so pretty if she lost weight" How dumb was I! I guess it's easy to make yourself believe that everyone else is doing something wrong and 'at least you're not as bad as them' kind of mentality.

Stretchy pants are a wonderful invention...that and elastic waists.

For anyone who doesnt know me - im a computer geek - like hard core linux user. Ive setup several ISPs mailserver webservers bandwidth providers, i program for 'fun' etc.
Anyway I run my own mail server and every now and again somebody gets the email address wrong and of course i have a catchall (if user doesnt exist it just sends it to me) and i get the odd email meant for somebody else. Somebody sent this in an email to me and i had to have a chuckle.
When you're hard out counting calories, exercising, and weighing in sometimes you forget to do the fun things ...

If a dog was the teacher you would learn stuff like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When it's in your best interest, practice obedience. !
Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back in the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout
... run right back and make friends.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

And this week ive lost another 1.6kg this week (about 3.5lb)

apon re-reading that i was thinking they forgot things like
Slobber all over everyone!
Hump total strangers legs
Piss in the pot plants

I didnt sleep well last night so got up at 9.30am this morning had 2 pieces of toast. Went and helped a friend move desks then went swimming and now its like 4.22pm and i havnt eaten anything. I have like 1000 calories to eat in one meal. I figure what better way to make up 1000 calories in one meal but to treat myself to KFC!

Havnt had that in ages and i wont even be breaking a calorie sweat! lol
