Rep Power: 43 | | Oh she does look gorgeous. She reminds me a lot of you wishie. She does have that Paris Hilton pose off pat!!
Great choice with that dress. I know how hard it can be to find the right thing for a girl that age!!
Glad to hear that you're feeling better.
(BTW the new kitchen looks all right too! A doona is a quilt - do you guys say duvet?) |

Rep Power: 79 | | ok cold is finally receeding, i feel a chesty cough comming on though (read: franticly sucking on asthma inhaler).
Finally updated my ticker again, 10lb to go! omg!
Its weird though, i look in the mirror some days and think im still fat, and maybe i should adjust my goal, then other days i think im fine .... go figure.
Today i was staring in the mirror thinking my thighs and ass are still huge, but i have to constantly remind myself theres still a lot of skin and thats never gonna go.
Ill go get another body fat % test in january. I think my goal still stands though as it is. I know others go down to stupidly skinnyness, but i prefer the more shaped athletic look. Anyway classic insecurities. |

Rep Power: 43 | | The last 10 lbs ... oh wishes, that is so close.
You might be consistently happy to stay where you are after that - the slimmer you get, the more impact a difference of a few pounds will have. I think knowing that you have gifted yourself with an athletic body, and using % body fat to help you decide is great wisdom.

Rep Power: 79 | | | hmm some definate oddness is comming from my mother. Man shes weird.
I asked my sister if i could pick her up when she arrives in NZ for xmas (hey i havnt seen her in 2 years), anyway i was told her flight gets in at 11.40 on the 21st of December (friday night) and i figure customs will take her another hour or two. No biggie, its a saturday the next day. This was planned like a month ago.
So im talking to my mother on the phone and she says something about my sister ariving on thursday, and i said 'thursday night? i thought it was friday?' having been a few weeks i thought maybe id got it wrong. My mother assured me that no thursday night was definatly the night. we organized a family xmas picnic in the park for sunday because we were heading off on xmas eve to visit the husbands family.
I figured 'oh well, ill be knackered for work on friday or later or take the day off'.
Anyway so i happened accross my sister just the other day and we were talking and she was packing to leave, and i queried the dates leaving/arriving because she was crossing datelines etc, and she said leaving thursday arriving friday ... to which i said 'oh! i thought you were arriving friday, but mum said thursday so i assumed she has more contact and was right', so no she double checked the flights and shes definatly arriving friday.
So this is no biggie, just a general mix up that happens, my mother does have head injury.
Anyway i forgot about it, and my mother rang tonight and i said 'oh so should i arrange for my older brother to go along or are you' to the picnic thing, and she says 'what? what picnic thing?' and i said 'the one we organized the other day ..' and she swore black and blue that no we had organized to wait until we got back for it (which there is no way i would because we had no comming back day planned and were fairly busy).
Anyway then she went on to tell me there was some severe weather problems over europe and singapore and that her plane would probably be delayed etc.
I hadnt seen the news. Anyway i checked online, and low and behold there was no bad weather to be seen! fancy that.
Im getting the idea that my mother doesnt want me to be picking up my sister ... would i be wrong ?
Is there some weird weather in europe or singapore that anyone knows about that might delay a flight in the next 24 hours? wtf?!
Im confused, im also wondering if my mothers gone off the deep end with dementia :O |

Rep Power: 51 | | My grandma is like that sometimes; I find it best not to argue with her when she's insisting on something. lol
10 lbs from goal, eh? Sounds awesome! I keep getting farther away; went up a little again this week. Gotta buckle down...

Rep Power: 43 | | Yeah! That is a great avvie!!
I know where you're coming from about your mum. It sure sounds frustrating!!!
As to it being dementia, well, who knows.
Maybe she's stressed. (Maybe Christmas stresses her?) I make odd mistakes when I'm stressed, and so do other people.
Maybe she wasn't listening properly. Even with the people at my house there is plenty of non-alzheimer's related miscommunication. Including my husband answering people and never having any idea at all what they said, or sometimes, even that they were there. He doesn't have Alzheimer's. Just terminal male pattern deafness. I was going to say that we are a lot younger than your mum, but actually that might not be the case now I think about it!!
Good luck with your Christmas arrangements!! How exciting that your sister is coming home!!! (No more sleeps till that now?) |

Rep Power: 79 | | Okay ive determined it was most definatly deliberate nastyness. I gave her $100 cash for her birthday (she was going overseas and didnt have much cash) and she rang me 2 days after mine with 'oh i forgot'. She also 'forgot' several presents for the kids this year, said she would make up xmas pressies.
Well my 9yo son got a $2 rubber ball which broke within 2 mins, 10yo got a home made tutu (read: one layer see through net skirt), the older daughter got a white top of some sort (probably worth more than the rest combined and still under $10), i got a box of chocolates. Sort of makes me glad i got her a $10 calender and $2 keyring now.
So off the bitter bitchyness that apparently is my mother.
I met my sister at the airport who, thanks to aforementioned bitchy mother, knew ALL about my weight loss (id planned to keep it secret and surprise her).
We greeted and went home, yacked till 2.30am (we got home at 1am). She slept in that morning till lunch to get over jet lagg, spent the day and had dinner and spent a second night here (Much to the annoyance of the mother lol - though unless you hadnt noticed im really not giving a shit about her currently)
It was a real surprise to know that my little sister, who was always the skinny one, had gained a little (not a huge amount) and im now 1 size smaller than her! It was awesome to catch up with her.
Had a large breaky yesterday, skipped lunch because of it, then had a nice roast with pudding afterwards for dinner. Today had a large breakfast, then decent sized lunch, and im not really hungry for dinner because of previously huge eats. Got a couple boxes of chocolates now in the fridge, time to re-wrap them to give to others i think |

Well, i ate and ate and ate myway through xmas. Dietwise it was pretty much a bust lol, but i figure since im so close to my goal im good to burn it off. Though im paranoid about putting it on, in reality i didnt overeat like i used too.
Did a lot of family stuff and ate with them. Ate tons at lunch and dinner for the past 3 days calorie wise. Ill have to put in a few kms on the bike i think to make up for it. Maybe watch a few movies whilst cycling on the trainer since im on call.
Went shopping today and found some awesome bootleg jeans in black. Very hard to find cheap jeans in bootleg AND black. Looking through the few left they only had weird sizes, either very large or very small. I couldnt find my size and was really peeved. I found a size smaller in a size 10 and thought 'what the hell ..' and tried em on. To make a long story short, i bought them, they fit and look fantastic! I also got a top to go with them which looks super cool too.
Heres a couple of pics of me and husband Paul, i still look big compared to him, but thats mostly because hes a mere 60kg/125lb lol :
Comparing it to one taken beforehand ... |
