Rep Power: 0 | | | Day 10 The last 3 days, I've had low blood sugar levels on waking so have been eating an orange immediately after waking, seems to work.
Bought some slimmers tea today, it doesn't taste too bad...only had 1/2 a cup...didn't want to be explosive at work tomorrow! Had to stop the apples, gave me severe low abdomen cramps.
I haven't told anyone about this diet except 1 friend, my husband...and now the women at the health store...she wants to see my progress!
Have a girls night out tomorrow including dinner, however, I will eat before volleyball and turn up late with relevant excuse not to eat fattening food. Will sip diet drinks or mineral water....my halo is slowly rising! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Day 12 Wow...my skin feels and looks so much better...used to have flaky dry spots on face...all gone and no more cracked lips!
Went out last night for a girls night out...only had 2 small diet cokes...no one pressured me to order a meal either...told them I'd eaten before volleyball. Felt quite slim....jeans fitting again (16s) can't wait to fit into my 14s, 12s then maybe 10s/11s and I'll be bounding up stairs!
Just had the yummiest lunch, stir-fried garlic prawns and asparagus....SO GOOD...will make that a regular meal. My husband bought 2kg of frozen raw prawn meat for $50 such good value...and tasty as well..not like those awful supermarket ones.
Went to the markets this morning, bought:
2 huge bunches asparagus
2 bags mushrooms
bag rocket/spinach
bag organic tangy oranges....all of this was grown locally!
nearly finished my 2nd week...going strong. |

i went from 80kgs last november to 68kgs in march this year, but i lost the plot and pigged out - putting nearly all of it back on. i'm back on track now - mostly through low GI diet and regular exercise. I'd love to do cohen's (i checked out the support group on this site) but i can't afford it and i'm not sure i'd have the discipline! your results are amazing - must feel great |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Hi sheidi A long time ago, a friend told me that she was going on the Cohen diet and I laughed and said "why should you pay someone that mucy money for YOU to do all of the hard work?" anyway a few years later, I have seen 2 friends lose huge amounts of weight on Cohens and eventually, I put on 5 kilos above my comfortable fattest weight and decided I had to do something.
I think that the reason it works is:
1) I've paid all of that money, I'm not going to have people say "told you so, you've wasted all that money" and
2) the plan is quite rigid whereas they say 1 deviation will cost you another week on the program and I don't want to do that.
Weight watchers was too flexible for me, I need less choices/uncomplicated plan and I find this program is working for me. I have never got to goal weight before, always been overweight, but I'm so encouraged by what I've seen so far that I know that I'll go the distance...as they say...it's only a small amount of time that I'll be doing this for...and the diet reprogrammes your body so you won't put on weight like you used to (human growth hormone has something to do with it).
I think that $680 is well worth my guaranteed goal weight! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Day 14 Wow, two weeks gone already.
Today was tough, a bit lethargic, PMT, could have handled a big cheesy dish like cauliflower cheese...quite hungry...settled for an extra half an orange to overcome low blood sugar.
I weighed again this morning...it was good, but will be better after TTOM....I know...said I wouldn't weigh until 4 weeks was up...but felt skinny so I did...twas a 1.6kg loss for the week but won't update my ticker until end of month.
My food is so bland that I've been having a teaspoon of seeded mustard with my meat to spice it up...so far it hasn't slowed my progress down. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Day 16 Well, the slimmers tea was too strong for me, gave me cramps. So I've resorted to orange metamucil, I've heard through the Cohen thread that someone said we can have it. The guide does say though...nothing with citrus extracts.....it does have citric acid in it. Well, if I stop losing weight, I'll let you all know. It does taste great (the smooth variety) and I'll only have it every 2nd day.
Off to choose tiles today for our house that's being built...very exciting!!!
Can't wait for week 4 to be over with so I can weigh. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Day 21 Feeling pretty good, clothes are definitely looser my pants don't go vvvvit vvvvit vvvvit when I walk as much (inner thighs!) I reckon that in 4 more weeks, I'll be under 70kg, can't wait...so many clothes in my wardrobe that I've missed wearing...and new clothes too that I never got to wear!
Going up to the Royal Show in 2 weeks time...MUST NOT DEVIATE!!! we're staying in a self contained motel, so I'll be able to cook/pack my own meals.
I'm going to try and limit my seafood intake as I discovered that 3 days in a row of having it (fish/prawns/tuna) didn't give me enough oomph...since then, I've had chicken, steak, eggs, bocconcini (baby mozzarella with 6% less fat that mozzarella)and I feel much better.
1 week to weigh in and blood test...it's gone quick....must not deviate!!!!! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Day 31 Off to Perth on Saturday. I WILL NOT DEVIATE NO MATTER HOW GOOD THOSE FRIED ONIONS AND BURGERS SMELL!! Have planned all my meals and will take diet lift when feeling like something sweet. I WILL NOT BUY ANY SHOWBAGS FULL OF CRAP!
My week 4 weigh in went well...lost 5.6kg...12.6 to go. Cohen's will phone in the next day or 2 to let me know how my blood results went.
Just had the tastiest meal yet on Cohen's.... Garlic Chicken & Cabbage
Diced chicken
2 cloves crushed garlic
shredded cabbage
chopped parsley & thyme
dash of water
sprinkle of onion salt
roll chicken in garlic and herbs
pan fry in a non stick pan with spray oil
when half cooked, add cabbage, water & salt, stir then put lid on...will only take 2-3 mins to cook YUMMMMMMO

Rep Power: 0 | | | Day 39 ...major deviation but no weight gain!!! Well, I did deviate in Perth. All done, nothing I can do about it ...but the good news is I still weigh the same...and my deviation was huge and worth it! We're talking tastes of everything going at the Royal Show...including whole scoop of cookie/passionfruit connoisseur icecream (free) marinated chicken on a stick...strawberries...chocolate tastings...sushi, Whistler's chocolate showbag, morish nut showbag...then we went to northbridge for dinner....seafood platter for 4 (more like 8!!!) they really over did the portion thing...and we're all big eaters! Chilli mussels, prawns, calamari, fish, scallops, crab, chips, garlic bread and normal bread & butter...all washed down with a semillon/sauvignon....then a baci icecream! We walked so much that day, I think I burnt off quite a few kjoules.
My breakfast meal is now curried egg (with mayo) on crackers + 1/2 orange (other half for dinner) + asparagus...yum!
Lunch is what ever hubby feels like cooking for me....he spoils me!
Dinner at the moment is yummy garlic chicken with cabbage...too good!
I feel better now that I have confessed! Does make me wonder though, how much weight I could have lost if I didn't deviate! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Day 45 I'm back on track...looking forward to hitting the 60's should be in about 2-3 weeks.
My kids are in the process of making shortbread (which smells divine!) and foccacia with garlic and herbs!! All I can say is that....I'm looking forward to my chicken, garlic and asparagus stirfry tonight!
My mum has been visiting for a few days and noticed that I was looking skinnier!... no one at work has said anything yet...won't be long before it will be more obvious though!
Trying to work out what my next reward will be...my priorities have changed since day 1. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
