Rep Power: 0 | | | Chai's Diet Tea -- Journal So at the suggestion of fellow members...Here I go posting a journal. =)
I normally suck at this sorta thing...ie buying blank journals and forgetting to write in them...so this time I'm gonna try to be consistant and dedicated.
Today is the first day of my "life changing" diet.
I bought a exercise ball to sit on while at work...(keep those abs / back muscles moving.)
Already on my 2nd liter of water...(yuck)
Pee'n like a maniac!
I was naughty and had a chai frapp this morning for breakfast...tomorrow will start my "real" calorie counting days since I'm gonna stop by the store this evening and stock up on good healthy veggies and chicken.
What else...hmm I work a very stressful job...desk job. I have a rather long commute so I hate taking time out of my day to exercise when there are so many other things I would rather do (play EverQuest) lol! And I have problems with guilty feelings leaving my husband at home without me.
But this all has to change...if I want to loose 100 lbs. Yes that is my crazy goal. 219 to 119. The last time I weighed 119lbs I was in 3rd grade or something like that and I am 27 now.
I think it may be impossible but I really wanna do it this time. Just like when I quit smoking after 10 years of doing so...I just woke up and did it. Cold turkey. I need to do the same thing with diet and exercise.
Guess that's all I have to say today. =)
Oh yah...I did my afternoon walk today around the office building. Not much exercise but its a start! |

Well today did not go as well as planned. Still on my ball, but I did not drink as much water as I did yesterday. I guess though I still have some time to drink some before I goto bed though. =)
Tonight for dinner I really want sushi so ...here's hoping. =) |

Rep Power: 22 | | | Keep up that frame of mind, just thinking about it motivates you! Can you take hubby walking with you after dinner? that would be good time spent together engaging in healthy activities. Look at me advise you, I should go and copy this onto my own journal so I can use my own advice...lmao! |

Boy I had a wake up call this morning. A "come to Jesus" so to speak revalation when I stepped on the scale.
Needless to say...I will be using today as my launch point for my real diet and exercise routine. 1200-1400 calories and nothing but WATER. Also gonna start walking this afternoon. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Doing good today! Went to the mall during my lunch hour and sat with my friends while they ate all sorts of naughty things and I had nothing! I waited until I got back to work and had my measured portioned calories. I also did my afternoon walk a few moments ago, and tonight for dinner I think I will pick up Crispers for my hubby and myself since I want to clean my house and not cook tonight. =)
Only drank 33oz of water so far though but I'm staring down a 9oz strawberry splash water atm. I will open it shortly. =)
Then before bed tonight I plan to work out and stretch on my work out ball, nothing too heavy because I don't want to get riled up before sleeping.
Lastly...thanks to everyone who keeps posting encouraging feedback for me. It really means alot to me to check back and recieve this warm support!!
You guys rock! |

Rep Power: 0 | | Bah! I've been lazy about posting.
When you have to go 4 pages deep to find your journal thread, you know you've been slack!
Anyways...Got up and walked around the neighborhood this morning for the first time since I started this diet. It was hard waking up, putting on my tennies and running out the door. But I did it. =) My diet part has been going pretty good and i'm deffinatly drinking TONS of water now. I haven't steped on the scale yet since that last weigh in at 219...but I will weigh again monday morning to see if I've made any progress at all.
The only time that I can think of that I've "cheated" this week on my diet was night before last and I had a bowl of special K after dinner. =(
NO more of that!
And I don't know if anyone else watches those Discovery health shows or not but last night they had one that really inspired me...with all these ppl that lost over 100lbs. I think that show really motivated me to get up off my bum this morning and walk before comming into work.
The only thing that really sucked about my walk was how bad my muscles in my legs itched and burned. =(
Anyone know what that is and how to prevent it?
*hugs* |

Rep Power: 0 | | Woo Hoo! It's going to be so much fun. And you've got me thinking....I'm going to buy another fitness ball and bring it to work and use it in place of my chair. Excellent idea...thanks for the idea.
Good luck in the challenge! |

Rep Power: 0 | | I saw that Discovery Health show too! All those different ways to get fit were really inspiring, especially since most of the weight-loss shows I've seen on that channel involved surgery. The man who biked across the country was especially encouraging.
I just got back from jogging (yes I actually did it, yay!) and have the same itching feeling. From what I remember from health class back in the day, that's the capillaries expanding to feed the muscle. When you don't use your muscles as hard, they don't need as much blood, so when you start exercising the blood vessels have to expand to provide more oxygen. And apparently that itches.
As an aside, chai tea is awesome, and if you make it with hot milk and a little sugar instead of in frapp form it's really not bad for you and is still tasty... have you tried it?
Thanks also for posting in my journal. I know I'll get used to peeing this much, sooner or later!
