I should snap a picture right out my window. It is REALLY coming down. Very thick and heavy and fast. It's beautiful if you don't have anywhere to be. It's even more pretty against a night sky!

Weighed in this morning. Weighed 91.3 kg which is 200.8 lb and a loss of .5 kg or 1.1 lb. That is the least I’ve lost in a week so far. Did I act differently? No. Does my middle feel smaller? Yes. Could it being the least yet, be irrelevant? Possibly.

Well the good thing about that is I am below 92 kg now and my weight this past year has mostly been between 92 and 96 kg.

I would like to lose a little faster than this. However I recognize that getting impatient when this happens is only ok if it pushes me to make changes I’m sure are ok. (For example: I do not want to try the soup only diet that finished me losing weight once before.) In other words business as usual I guess. Today it should make me try to get to bed earlier, get up earlier, get off the computer earlier – tonight and in the morning, so I walk earlier tomorrow. That might not make me lose any more weight next week but it is for sure heading me in the right direction. Also it should get me off the computer, RIGHT NOW, and send me off on a vigorous walk, which I should be able to sustain.

Yes!! Did my 47 min walk in 35!! At first I thought it was 45 and I just thought “Oh, I thought I did better, but I did have to keep reminding myself to go fast” – and then I realized it was just my math that was wrong! I am really chuffed. I walked in the rain too. Nice little rain. I haven’t done that before though. My feet were ok and my knees were ok.

I also went to the beach today – it was pretty rough – waves I mean – but fun – and I loved that lung cleansed feeling on the way home.

Breakfast ~8:00 2 weetbix., 1 C soya milk, 1 boiled egg, 1/2 glass tomato juice, 1 slice wholemeal toast, margarine, strawberry jam. White coffee. .Lunch ~ 1:00 2 salada crackers with a little (20gm?low fat cottage cheese), ~ ½ chicken thigh, 1 tomato. Snack 4:15 1 Salada cracker, 1 carrot. 5:45 25 gm raw almonds Dinner: 8:45 75 gm lean steak, ~ 2 tbspns lentil curry, 1 medium microwaved potato, ½ C steamed spinach with ¼ C yoghurt, 1 cooked carrot, 4 mushrooms – thin sliced fried in 2 tspns olive oil, . Snack ½ pear ¼ C natural low fat yoghurt.Exercise: 6:28 35 min brisk ++ Water: 2250 +ml Yesterday’s Bedtime: 11:30
On plan:43 days Achieved food target: 37 days Exercised: 35 days All goals: 6 days.

It is relevant. Scanning your menu (and your incredible diligence), Your volume of consumption (and now the many days you've been in this plan) has probably allowed you to be at your smallest stomach size (the actual organ itself) in along time. You've probably achieved normal size. The trick here is to honor this size consistently. You will learn to be full with normal amounts of food now instead of overeating and stretching the stomach back out hence more food required to fulfill what the stomach and mind were use to.

So yes, this a HUGE step in weight reduction. I see many who never make it to this stage and fewer that know what to do with it when they do finally make it to this phase. Your reactions are pivotal to success when the incredible shrinking stomach cries out for food.

Congrats !! This really gives you a great feeling doesn't it ?? imagine what you'll feel like 2 weeks from now and 2 months from now when those numbers are even lower !!

I'm glad you rationalized your way through this. Sometimes the patience aspect is the hardest emotion to master. Good for you for getting out there and treating your body to some exercise !!

Thanks guys. I do so much value your support.

T2 Trucker I'm jealous !!
Fair enough. When I think about the efforts you snow bound people have to go to exercise I feel pretty guilty about all the opportunities I've squandered. Time to change.

And time to do the "get off the computer" thing again!!

OK. Still glucose intolerant. Still not diabetic. Iron stores normal. So normal for me. That's good. I have no natural inclination to worry about bad news in advance of it so I wasn't as nervous as I might have been, but I definitely feel better for having that behind me!!

Hyperose: Thanks for the visit. Yes. I've been getting away with some procrastination due to holidays - but they won't last forever, so I want to get some better habits in place before I'm back fitting in the school drop offs and pickups, and dancing classes, and netball, and ... WORK!!

Had one good walk today. I moved the wrong way later on and my knee (the better one) wasn’t so good. Ordinary walking didn’t make it hurt, so I thought probably it would be best to walk again but not push it and it’s improved.

Breakfast ~8:00 2 weetbix., 1 C soya milk, 1 boiled egg, 1/2 glass tomato juice, 1 slice wholemeal toast, margarine, strawberry jam. 2 C White coffee ~ 80 ml Hilo milk. .Lunch ~ 12:45 2 slices wholemeal bread ~ 60 gm low fat cottage cheese), ~ ½ chicken thigh, ½ tomato, 1 carrot. Snack6:15 20 gm almonds Dinner: 8:45 100gm crimson snapper, 2tspn olive oil, 2 slices wholemeal bread, 3 C salad inc. 1 tomato, 1 tbspn olives, lettuce, carrot, cucumber, capsicum, sugar snap peas, mushroom. 1 tub diet apricot yoghurt.Exercise: Walks 9:50am 37 min brisk ++ 7:50pm 20 min. mod. pace Water: 2250 +ml Yesterday’s Bedtime: 11:30

i hate hurting my knees. You did the right thing though. RELAX. Let your body heal itself. another 30 minutes of walking with a bad knee and making it worse is not worth it. You can always make up for it when your knee feels better.

Do you take anything for your joints, Felici?
If you don't have a blood sugar problem, I HIGHLY recommend Glucosamine. It's a form of glucose, so it will affect diabetics, but I tell you what; I MISS that stuff. I'm currently trying to "make do" with MSM for my joints, and I am going to have to try fish oil, as well. I need something to make my knees strong and let them move smoothly.
Take good care of them, because replacement is expensive, painful, and annoying! (Not a joke :P )

Thanks everyone for your comments. I do eat a lot of good food and I put in a little more effort these days to keep it attractive and varied so that I don't feel deprived at all. I am pretty happy to eat the same stuff for breakfast over and over though. Depending what type of protein I have with my evening meal and how much I have, my calories are around 1400- 1600 I think. Tonight is Friday so I have to try to find something a little special to make.

Qjay - I have been taking fish oil and glucosamine for a couple of years. I am taking glucosamine hydrochloride. I recently had a few months off the glucosamine because when I switched to glucosamine sulphate for a while it seemed to trigger an itchy rash which constantly spread and eventually became nigh on unbearable. I took a long while to find out what started it. I do believe the glucosamine makes a lot of difference to my joints though - I did notice the difference while I was off it - so I started again last week. I don't think it's making my skin worse (fingers crossed). There is a vegetable derived one as well which I will try if necessary. I was wondering if it would affect my GTT the other day so looked it up but the websites I saw were reassuring about diabetics taking it. I remember you saying that wasn't your experience though.
