Rep Power: 17 | | Thanks for everybody for stopping by in my diary!!!!
It's so nice to come back and see you've been here..
So I came back home today after a good work-tripping time and since this was the first time in two weeks to weigh myself on my own scales, I did that: 67,1 kg. That's 147.8 lb.
That's only 0,1 kg more than before this non-chosen eating-what-you-can-get -period of time. Last time I did this I gained about 1 kg, so I'm kinda happy here..
I had no chance of weighing myself for the April challenge on 1st April, so I had to use an average of what I weighed on another scale on Saturday 31st March and what the scale said today. That came to 149.3 lbs. So that's my official "start of April challenge -weight"!
Since I'm hoping to lose 5 pounds before the 5th of May, I'm going to have to start moving...
I'll be home and active at least until next Tuesday, so no excuses before that!! I've been really active on the 30 minutes a day outside -challenge so far, so I'm trying to keep that up.. Nice weathers here are helping me.
I'm so glad to be back!!

I haven't been totally idle here, although absent. I've put some miles to the April Exercise Challenge: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/club-...many-days.html
April
1st 6 km =3,73 miles
2nd 4 km =2,49 miles
3rd 12 km =7,46 miles
4th 3,8 km =2,36 miles
That's also more than 30 minutes outside every day for the Spring Challenge: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/club-...ng-flings.html
GOOOO, Spring Flings!!
Today I need to do some serious grocery shopping and house cleaning for Easter. The last weeks have not been very nice for my apartment, there seem to be half unpacked suitcases everywhere..
And then, hopefully, the rest of Easter I'll be holidaying. Well, not counting the exercise and outdoor activities, of course.

Thanks for stopping by here.
Yesterday was a total recovery day. I had all kinds of things planned, but managed to do only the absolutely vital things like groceries. Too tired..
Today I have planned some serious walking: I've decided to take part in a 25 mile walk in the end of May, so I need to practice. This is the 5th time they arrange this walk, so I've talked to some people who've done it and got some good advice for shoes, socks, etc. But most importantly I need to do some long walks before so that I have an idea of how it's going to be. Today I'm going for about 10 miles, if the weather stays like it is now, sunny. I bit too windy to my taste, but at least it's not raining!
Then I have some gardening to do. I have only a balcony here on the 4th floor, but I'm going to sow some tomatoes, sweet peas, basil and lobelias and plant some garlic which didn't want to be eaten and decided to grow instead. It'll take at least two months for it to be so warm outside that I actually put the plants to the balcony, but I need to get them growing already, since the period of growth outside is very short here. Last years chives is already growing out there and I've got two little willows in good growth. I'm afraid that my strawberries might not have survived the winter, but time will tell...
I've got some lamb in basil-garlic-lemon-mint marinade for the evening. Very easterish.. An avocado-red pepper salad and some broccoli to go with that.
I'm looking forward to this day, I hope all of you feel the same!

Rep Power: 17 | | A follow-up on today:
The spring weather seems to be extremely unreliable. I went out expecting nice sunny weather. The wind is hard from the north-west, so I dressed accordingly. Fortunately, because during the two hours I spent there we had both rain and snow!! And personally I started having bad stomach cramps (not from the exercise.. ), so that changed my original plans a bit.
I walked for 3,5 km, 33 minutes, then went to my favourite dirt track which is just almost dry from having been a ski track. It's 2,4 km, so I ran it twice.
I thought, why not test natures own opiates for the cramps, since I didn't have any pain-killers handy. At first I thought I was going really slowly, but for the second round I actually got some speed and managed to do the 4,8 km in 28'26. That's my new speed record: over 10km/hour!!!
And in my endorphin high after that I walked over 6 km more, so I didn't quite make todays goal of 10 miles (16,1 km), but got a personal best for April anyway: 9 miles (14,5 km)!
Right now I need to go get something to eat, my body is SHOUTING for energy.. I've got a story to tell, so I'll be back..

Rep Power: 17 | | Ok, so here comes the story:
I can definitely tell that the spring has come by all the creeps that have crawled from all their holes.. There are these two men I have worked with, let's for the sake of the story call them Peter and Alan. Alan is recently divorced, one child. Peter is married, two children.
The history goes as follows: Alan, at the time of his divorce, had a huge crush on me. I was sympathetic at first but got freaked out when, after about two weeks he was making plans for moving to the same city as me "to be near me all the time". Since I had only friendly feelings for him, I took a lot of distance and told him that he was moving WAY too fast. Things finally settled down to neutral after a phase of antagonism on his part.
Peter started showing me a lot of attention at about the time I was trying to be as far from Alan as I could. I knew he was married and I wouldn't go along with it, but I really liked him, that I can't deny. He used to tell me things like "Oh, you're so dangerous.." even though I was just plain professional and friendly at the most. And show me a woman who doesn't like that... Things led to nowhere, mostly because I didn't let them. Let's say, it wasn't because he wouldn't have asked for more...
All that was over about a year ago. I see them in my professional capacity now and again, couple of times during this year.
Suddenly, last week, Peter phoned me. He, allegedly, had a question about our old project. I answered that in my brusque way, as usual, (stupid question anyway) and expected the call to be over. Apparently he had expected my answer to be something that would lead to us meeting, since when that didn't happen, he said "well, actually I just wanted to meet you". And when I told him (still quite brusquely, I never learned the flirty way of dealing with these things), "we can meet without making these stupid excuses, why didn't you just ask me for a coffee?", he said "that would've been kinda wrong, since I'm married and all..." So I guess he wasn't thinking of having coffee with me, because that he could do quite legally, even though he's married...
SOOO, he had thought, he'd get me to settle the meeting and could then blame me for everything that (hopefully??) followed. And he'd hand me the responsability for "seducing" him, instead of him, a married man, going after me. AAAARGGGHHHHH! Needless to say, we're not meeting, not now and not in the foreseeable future. Not until the hell freezes over and/or he gets a divorce + 3 years when he finds himself after the divorce. Whichever comes first.
AND I just need to declare myself a bit crazy as well, since after all this, I still really like him. What a stupid woman I can be...
A long story, but there's more to come:
I just learned yesterday that a friend of mine had met Alan at a party. And had spent an hour listening to Alan tell her, how I'm as close as one can get to the woman of his dreams. Great! So he still goes around after over a year and tells that to random people in random parties. It's really hard to be flattered about that, it's so much easier to be totally freaked out. Now that I come to think of it, he did tell exactly the same thing to my mother about a year and a half ago, when she came to see me at work. She asked me later, if he was harassing me...
I'm just wondering, will these kind of things keep happening every spring from now on or was this just a BAD week with the sudden rise in temperature.
Comments are welcome.

Rep Power: 11 | | It looks like you are dangerous after all, Juliette! Look at these poor men who can't get you out of their minds! Just joking!
However, this Peter surely has a lot of nerve! I'm sorry for his wife, she's most probably already been cheated plenty of times. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
