Hahaha, well it depends on how you slice it. From another's perspective I don't need to lose weight.

From my own, or someone else's in similar shoes as mine, I do.

I don't ever carry a lot of fat, but when I do add some during a bulk, it does cover up the 'goods.'

I think I'm hovering around 15% bf currently.

Quote of the day and rendomness

"I don't think there are any gimmicks that work, and I don't think there are any secrets other than learning to do lifts correctly and working very, very hard." - Glenn Pendlay

"Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it's when you've had everything to do, and you've done it."

*************

I maxed bench again. I wasn't supposed to but I had some bottled up anger in me that I wanted to let out. I put up 335 with ease. It feels good being strong right now.

I was, thanks.

Tonight I am supposed to meet with the manager of my gym and see if there's a 'fit' for me at their facility. It's nice having an interview that doesn't really matter. If there's a fit, great. If there isn't, no skin off my back.

without sounding like a supreme suck up-

I think it's going to come down to whether or not you can work with them and their gym philiosophy as to whether or not they can work with you... you know you'd be an asset to any gym -- any employer in any industry for that matter - you've got an excellent work ethic that people appreciate and is somewhat hard to come by (especially in your age group from what I've seen and interviewed) I don't, however, see you as having a lot of patience with bs...

You don't need luck with the interview - you've got skills - so just enjoy it and hope it is what you're looking for..

I like that quote - and I realized I'm only working hard -I need to start working very very hard - that's gonna be tough but i'm up for the challenge...

Thanks Mal... I appreciate that. And I am confident that I would be an asset. You're exactly right, it's a matter of semantics. a) can I offer the time they're looking for, b) can they live with the fact that I'm starting a business that is in the same field and I think will be successful, and c) can I put up with the shit that personal training is nowadays.

The good news is there are only 4 or so trainers at this gym and they seem very nice. They are boobs, but if I end up training there and stay long enough, I think I could make an impact on the training staff which would be cool.

The problem with most training gyms, which is why I stopped working for gyms a long while back, is that they don't care about really making a difference. They don't care so much about the results the clients have. They don't care about any of the stuff I care about. They care about number of transactions, and that shit I hate. If it ends up like that here, I won't stay long. The real kick in the dick is when you do get awesome progress with a client, they want to praise the shit out of you and highlight the progress to the rest of the gym to get more transactions. Yet, they don't support what it takes for most results to be generated..... time.

That's why I've enjoyed being an independent contractor.

But we'll see how it goes. For all I know they'll be looking for more than I can offer at the moment in terms of time.

the caring about making a difference is what sets you apart from the rest...

this new gig shouldn't be stressful -so I hope it's fun for you.. and if it's not -well no harm done... you just keep doing what you're doing..

Exactly, that's why this is nice. There's no stress involved. It is what it is and whatever it turns out to be doesn't really matter. If it goes good, it adds to the goodness that already is. If it goes bad, it takes nothing away from said goodness.

Interview Advice From Mal -
Stand up when the interviewer enters the room.
Smile and firm handshake (but not too firm, you can bench 300+lbs though bringing him to his knees would be pretty funny with your sheer power and strength)
Be your charming self
Don't ask about benefits on the initial interview -that's tacky

Just trying to behelpful here
