I love that guy... though his mom refuses to leave him alone with me, haha. He says I teach him too many bad things. I don't try, but he completely mimics everything I do. | that's what the cool uncle is supposed to do... jeesh.. who else is gonna teach the boy?
keep it up
and have fun playing your game... and working with gordy.. (all work and no play makes for a very dull website -so have lots of fun too - not that you won't but having the mal seal of approval makes it all better |

Rep Power: 187 | | | We seem to have trouble managing the fun:work ratio.
And I promise it's not slanted in favor of the work side, lol. And to think, we wanted to be open for business in less than 4 weeks. |

I was about to kill Gordy. He got a few t-shirts made... actually only 2 so we could see if we liked the quality of this place. He's been wearing them around his gym like a moron. |

Rep Power: 187 | | | I haven't even seen the shirts yet but he says they're really good. I'm in the midst of getting a hat made but that's real pricey... we won't be able to get them in bulk. But I love hats and to get it done at lids.com is very easy. |

Rep Power: 218 | | I think imentioned them before - but CafePress.com: Shop, create or sell what's on your mind with custom T-Shirts, unique gifts and more. will also put logos on pretty much anything imaganinable -f rom tshirts to hats to bags for the crunchy hippies who shun plastic shopping bags
the tshirt they use s the hanes tagless t- so it's a fairly good quality shirt and their graphics work is pretty good...
hats are very cool - and so totally you |

Rep Power: 187 | | | I totally forgot that link Mal! Thanks!!
I'm emailing it to Gord right now. Getting quality t-shirts at a reasonable bulk price is his job. He needs something to do, lol. |

Rep Power: 218 | | | and I know you guys aren't iin it for the money but one of the 'neat' things about cafepress -and their competitors as well (zazzle.com is another) is you can set up a storefront and sell your shirts/hats/stuffs -for a profit if you want.. |

We are in it for money. Ideally I can make a living enough off this company so I get out of finance completely. I'm just not in it to sell things just for the sake of making money, which most other 'gurus' do. Even the good ones. They have great products. And I don't care if the sell shirts and stuff... if people want them... go for it. Don't create products just for the sake of making money though...
Many rehash old shit or promote products even though they don't truly stand by them.
That's not me.
I'm about honesty and quality, is all. |

Rep Power: 187 | | Haha, I'm a financial adviser too, ya know!
We're all capitalists.
In truth, I only feel confident accepting money from someone when I'm selling the intellectual property I have regarding health and fitness. It's the only thing I stand by of my own intellect. Beyond that, even finance, I don't like making money on the stuff.
So I might as well go back to making a living off it. I mean I could tomorrow, but not to the extent of a living I'm making today with finance. It's a tough trade off. But I'm in the process of following my heart.
I read some motivating stuff yesterday. I won't say names b/c some of you might know him. But this guy who's younger than me got into the whole 'circle jerk' of gurus and started a radio broadcast where he'd interview some of these guys. For the most part it was about dispersing information about products but the kid behind the show was in it b/c he loved fitness. I always felt that he'd make it far in the fitness industry simply b/c of all the 'guru' contacts he has made over the years.
He's about done college now and decided to throw all that away, even though he loves it to death, simply b/c he loves video games even more. He even went to school for health. But he loves video games so much and he listened to his heart and landed some pretty crazy job working for a video game review company owned by MTV.
Awesome stuff! I love hearing about people following their hearts! |

Rep Power: 187 | | Here's a few recent pictures of my little cousin. He's one of my favorite things in this world. I love hanging out with him so much and he loves me to death. It's great to have something so pure in your life like him. http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...man81/dre3.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...man81/dre2.jpg http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...man81/dre1.jpg
He's brought our family so much closer too. It was a rough patch b/c his mother was with a black man and my grandfather was pretty racist, unfortunately. He used to say things under his breath when my family would throw big bashes when I was in high school and I'd invite my friends over, some of whom are black. They wrote it off as the 'crazy old racist guy.' They'd make fun of him... what else can you do.
But when his own grand daughter had a baby with a black man... I thought he'd die. Amazingly enough, I don't think he'd ever utter another racist word or phrase again. He loves his great grand child and he loves his soon to be grandson-in-law (is that how you say it?) to absolute death. It's pretty amazing how eye opening of an experience it has been for him. |

He created and ran the fitcast.
It's something I never really got into listening to but he had some big name guests on there and definitely had more than a foot in the door of this industry. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
