Rep Power: 187 | | Well I used to get every single time I went there the same dish which was shrimp and lobster alfredo. They stopped making that dish and replaced it with this cajun chicken dish. I was very hesitant to get it when this originally happened but it's damn good. And Krista always gets a seafood dish and doesn't finish it so I clean that up too. |

Rep Power: 187 | | | Haha, she's the cute one. I'm just the lug who eats a lot. Her summer break from teaching starts today, so that worked out perfect for her. I'm jealous.
I took off Friday though to work on the company, so I can't complain. |

Today is the first day of our 'conditioning circuit' so hopefully I'm able to do it. I'm stoked.
Yesterday when we got home from work we went out to dinner for my bday. We went to Red Lobster... it's our go-to-place when we want good food quick since it's so close. I had a cajun chicken alfredo dish... which was excellent. Then we went home and watched Bucket List, which was a good movie.
Tonight I think we're staying in and cooking out on the grill... steak and shrimp. | Whats your circuit look like Steve? |

Rep Power: 187 | | Right now it alternates a primary drill (something for power, speed or agility) with a metabolic drill. We are just starting it so it will most likely adapt over time but the immediate goal is to improve general conditioning while building up some of the athletic qualities that have been neglected for too long.
Primaries include things like:
- cone/hurdle work
- plyos with various jumps, bounds, boxes and balls
- tractor tire work
- shuttles
The secondary/metablic stuff will be anything from light jogging to rope jumping.
We'll also be throwing in a lot of prehab/rehab stuff like scap pushups, wall slides, and various other dynamics mobility movements. That will probably be our warmup in fact. |

Rep Power: 18 | | | Looks good. Post the routine when you get it finished I'd like to try it. I always try the weekly workout on Ross's site. And I always fail miserably. It keeps me motivated. |

Rep Power: 187 | | | I think todays will look something like this:
Alternating Split Squat Jumps
Jump Rope
Shuttle
Jumping Jacks
Rotational Med Ball Wall Slams
Burpees
Tire Flips
Jog
Stand Ups from lying position with sandbag
Agility work with speed ladder
Each station will last 30 seconds for as many as you can do with 15 seconds between each. |

Gordy actually isn't doing it. I'm doing it with a guy I've trained with off and on over the years interested in this as well as a few of the local wrestling coaches. They want me to show them some things they can do for general conditioning for their wrestlers. I'd modify this a bit once we get into working with them specifically but for now, again, this is general conditioning for the most part.
The stand ups look something like this at the 2:28 mark in the vid: YouTube - Sandbag Training Part 2
or at the 3:05 mark here: YouTube - Conditioning Circuit |

Rep Power: 187 | | Hope all is well with the procedure and have fun! I'll report any changes after tonight that I'll be making. I'm probably going to rotate 2-3 circuits throughout the week or maybe even on each training day since there are a lot of exercises I want to incorporate. |

Rep Power: 187 | | | Conference sucked... but I got out early which isn't bad.
So I feel great after our circuit training yesterday. It was as hard as I expected it to be. There were 3 of us doing it at the school behind my house. We actually accumulated quite the crowd watching us, lol... guess it's something you don't see every day around here.
We ran through 3 different circuits all similar to what I presented yesterday.
We also started and finished with a bunch of flexibility work. We started with dynamic mobility stuff as well as some glute activation work. I don't have any pelvic tilt problems I'm aware of but I did feel that my glutes weren't working hard enough when I was on my hike at Mt. Washington. My quads were extremely fatigued and cramping then and your glutes should be the powerhouse in such things. So it felt good to fit all this mobility and prehab/rehab stuff in.
The one guy doing it did puke, which I wanted to avoid. I never like having someone puke. After the second circuit we were going to call it quits for the day.... I suggest we do one more if they were up to it and they both nodded ya.
I'm interested to see how long this lasts. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
