Any differences between front squats and back squats? Are they the same? is one better than the other? Reason I ask is i tried front squats and they seem easier for me.
I did watch the Squat Rx video on front squats but would like to hear your thoughts as well.
Thanks,
Matt |

Rep Power: 182 | | Huge differences, really. It has to do with the biomechanics of the movements... lever arms and all that jazz... stuff we don't need to get into. But due to the different positioning of the bar in relation to the hips, knees and back... the body is stressed differently.
Primarily, the quads are emphasized over the hamstrings and there is less stress placed on the lower back.
Generally speaking... people aren't able to handle the same sort of loads with FS as they can with BS. |

Rep Power: 182 | | | Thanks for asking! I've been meaning up update the journal but haven't gotten around to it. The foot feels much better. Annoyingly, it still hurts though. I'm less worried about it though, which is nice. The doc said he believes it's tendonitis... seems to be the go to diagnosis for anything these days, lol. But I'm happy since the way it was hurting I was fearing I'd need surgery! |

Rep Power: 13 | | Sounds like a good update to me! Any improvement is less cause for concern.
Hopefully it'll get its self all healed up and you can resume your daily life without pain |

Rep Power: 182 | | Today will be my first lower body strength day since my foot injury... I'm anxious to see how it holds up. I'll toy around with some deadlifts, GHRs, and leg presses if all goes well.
I've really been working on ankle, shoulder and thoracic mobility and I feel loads better. Exercises include thoracic extensions over a foam roller, foam rolling the thoracic spine, wall chest and lat stretches, bicep stretches, quadruped hip circles, birddogs, fire hyrdrants, 90/90 stretches, etc.
I do it daily while watching the evening news. |

Rep Power: 182 | | Got that right. Me especially... I always have to be doing something! I'll do enough relaxing when I'm dead!
