I've almost completed my first week following my detox program exactly and I feel great. I have been losing 1 to 3 pounds a day- not of water or lean body mass but mostly fat. This should slow down to about 1/2 pound per day next week.
It's not as hard as I thought it would be. The program uses a type of acupuncture which is beads placed at pressure points behind the ears that you rotate every 2 hours and it signals the brain that you're full so your body doesn't go into starvation mode. I was skeptical in the beginning about the whole bead and rotation thing that's why I never used them. I regret it because I would have lost more weight earlier on. I still workout and have more energy now than when I was scoffing down 9000 calories a day.
Now I'm down to 193 and I don't even remember (or I don't want to remember) being over 240. People are beginning to notice my weight change (although I don’t discuss it not even with family, this is for me) AND yesterday guys were hitting on me for the first time in 3 years!!
well i can deff see a difference chick! well done you.. long time no see on here you must be really busy. glad to see you are doing well - hope you are ok
getting there is looking easy but staying there will be the challenge!!
I know! I'm trying to concentrate on the here and now, but sometimes my mind wanders and I think, "Sh--, am I going to be able to maintain my weight?" But then I psych myself up for it and am like, "YES, this is not some temporary weight loss for a small goal! This is where I turn my life around and stop yo-yo dieting, and make wise food choices for the rest of my life!!"
If we both concentrate on this, we will stay slim and healthy!

Like you I am definetly turning my life around. I figured the secret is to build up lean body mass. So I hired a CPT that I plan on training with when I reach my next goal of 135 (hopefully by JUNE 1-fingers nervously crossed!!)
Good luck with the personal trainer... Hope they give you what you're looking for...
I had hired one for a few sessions and it really was a waste of money - i read the same magazines she did and she pretty much took me thru those routines...
Down 7.4 lbs!! I am now half-way to my next goal of 135lbs and half-way to my inches lost goal!!
TRANSLATION: I lost almost 50 pounds since december!!
I can't believe how fast this has happened. One of the best things is that my skin is staying tight. And I owe it to The Firm workouts (the ones with the incline steps). I just went through my daily journal and realized that I burn more weight with those workouts than with my elliptical alone. Most likely because they mix aerobics and weights in their workouts. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Just began reading this book that is seriously changing my perspective on my life and health. It's a free download so if you would like a copy click here:
