Yikes! I know when I started I lost 15lbs within 1.5 months. That was quick. But then I stopped losing all together, until I got off Weight Watchers and started counting calories (1200-1550/day).

Are you using Spark People? Because that is the exact calorie range they have me on.

You're very pretty and I can see how your face has slimmed down.

You work hard on those girls and tell them its gotta be something they can do for the rest of their lives. If all the experts said we should take diet pills then they would be part of a sensible plan. Ask them how they're feeling (on 1000 calories) and tell us what they say.

But I told her she wasn't going about it in a healthy way, but she seems to disagree.

The other girl, went to her doc and got appetite suppressants and a diet plan that has her eating between 1000-1200 cals per day and she weighs more than me... I explained how much I was eating and able to lose weight, but I told her that she needed to see a dietician not her regular MD.
Good for you for helping them out!
You're beautiful by the way...
Sometime soon I'm going to start a thread in "Off Topic" that is going to be me showing off my favorite pictures I've taken...maybe you can put up some of your best??
Later, though....

Yeah, I starting using Spark a few weeks ago, when I kicked WW. I was very good about posting everything I ate, but lately I've been having trouble. I'll get back into it again. I found it really helped me stay on track to exercise. Alas........ same thing with the eating, having trouble lately.

I started using it in February, and have posted everyday except the week I was on vacation. that whole week is blank. I like it, but I'm thinking the Protein #'s are off based on what I have read posted here and elsewhere. I'm seeing that I should be getting at least 155+G protein since I'm in a caloric deficit.

Unless I buy some protein powder or something, I'm not sure where I can fill all the requirements.

I'm trying to eat cleaner. Less processed foods and more fresh stuff. I honestly think this is the healthiest I have ever eaten in my life.

I hadn't even thought about iron. .. Maybe my nutrition is worse off than I am thinking it is.

oh no! Sorry.. didn't mean to add one more thing.

I just add on Fiber, Calcium & Iron to the normal stuff, just for me. I figure if the body stops absorbing calcuim after 30 then I better get all I can now. As for the iron, I have been diagnosed as anemic in the past & pretty much have realized I am now. So that's the focus there.

too weird...I just got an e-mail saying you're posting in my diary at the same time I'm posting in yours

anyway, this may be one of those useless urban nutrition myths BUT I've always heard that if you cook your dark leafy greens in a cast iron skillet, it increases the iron content of the veggies...may not be true but darn they sure taste good that way at least

Yeah, a meal I LOVE that I cook often is this:

Boil a med yam
Rub 4 oz salmon with a "RUB"
Start chopping collard greens and broccoli
drizzle olive oil in a coverable, deep skillet
drizzle olive oil in cast iron skillet next to it
start saute-ing garlic in large rounded skillet
start grilling the salmon in the cast iron
stick the greens and broccoli in the big pan, add a dash of white wine and cover, stirring occasionally, until braised
blacken the salmon until cooked through.

It's delicious--yam, salmon, and greens--perfect meal packed with iron, vitamins, minerals, protein, fiber, complex carbohydrates, and omega 3 fatty acids--and it tastes great to me too! At only about 375 calories or so, depending on thge size of the yam and the amount of olive oil. I usually make 2 servings and put one away for the next day.

I made it up--but if you hate any of those items you could substitute something nutritionally similar.

It's true about the cast iron pan. We tell our patients that when they're diagnosed with anemia.

What a pretty girl. Your pics are beautiful. I'm glad you're feeling skinny. lol It's nice to see progress, eh?

Well, I wasn't the best at dinner, Hubby came home late and I just didn't want to cook... surprise surprise surprise. Anyway, I ordered a Flatbread pizza from Uno pizzeria and the website said the entire thing had like 1100 cals. I ate 1/2 of it so about 550 cals or so. My totals are still around 12xx (see prior page for exact #) today, but I'm not happy with the quality of food. We did order an Apple Crisp dessert, and I gave it all to him and told him to eat what he wanted first and then I'd eat what was left over.. Good Idea.. it was all gone well, good and bad. I get no more bad calories. I think I may have just come in under on my sodium today, so I'm happy about that. Protein wasn't nearly high enough, but fat wasn't really either.

My sister may find out what the sex of the baby is on Friday, so that's exciting.

Ok, photocrazed, signing out.. Oooh. I'll go look for some good photos.
