Hi, i'm 20and this is my first time on a proper diet. I've tried cutting down before and it;s never been successful, or only small amounts of weight loss.
I'm going on holiday in june and then again on july so i really want to get my weight down for then. My goal is to wear a bikini and look ok, since i've never been able to right through my teenage years.
I've been unhappy with my weight for so long and i've never got round to doing something about it but i'm definately starting now.
I've decided to do atkins for a fortnight and see where to go from there, either continue with atkins or switch to low calorie, depending how much weight i lose.
Today is day two and i'm feeling ok. I have lost a pound already which is quite exciting. I kind of feel tired and cold, but i don't feel all stuffy like i do normally when i've eaten, and when i eat and go to work, normally my stomach hurts but it never last nite.
i cheated a tini bit today and had one after eight and one small peice of chewing gum although it was sugar free and i think my carb content is still low enough to work. I can't find mayonnaise without sugar either, although i dont'; eat a lot of mayonaisse.
I really have to up my water intake, today i've not drank nearly enough, something like 3 glasses and a cup of decaf milkless sugarless tea which wasn't too pleasant. i might have green tea instead tomorrow.
I have to buy vitamins as well, i thnk i'll get them tomorrow.

I used to be (and sometimes still am!) a night time snacker.
I found that if I ate enough throughout the day, if I don't let my calories get too low - and plan for some of my calories to be spent in the evening, I don't over do it.
It's been difficult but i feel like this is working. I'm still really craving chocolate and buiscits and for some strange reason pastry- which i usually hate, but i'm coping.
woke up this morning and had dropped another two pounds!!!!!!!!
I feel so upbeat, like this could actually work
The only thing i'm worried about is that i feel ok. Day five is supposed to be the worst day. I've felt pretty much ok except for wednesday and i wasn't taking any vitamins at that point. Hopefully it's not a bad sign.
good for you, just know that your weight fluctuates greatly 5-10 lbs in a day. So if you do go up for some unknown reason stick with it and dont get depressed, its just water weight.

i kinda lost my motivation. Ended up drinking last nite. So i'm going to go low cals for a week and see how i feel with that. I can always go back to low carbs

i never started low cals, such an idiot, i'm going on holiday at the start of june and again in august, and i so much want to be slim. One of my friends is a dancer with th emost fantastic figure, the other is just unfairly pretty.
I don't know why i can't stick to anything.
Plus i tried excercising all week, and then couldn't do my jeans up on saturday nite, to wear out, but i got into them sunday :S

Ok so i've been really motivated all day. had a nightmare of a fortnight, where i've been really depressed, my boyfriend called me fat the thing is i know he likes my figure, he prefers me a bit curvy he just said it to be nasty.
But it's good in a way because i'm all motivated now.
Does this sound like an ok day, it went a wee bit wrong?;
small bowl of honey nut branflakes and semi-skimmed milk
medium bowl of pasta and tomato and cajun sauce
4 potato wedges, 3 onion rings, small amount of dip (My mum made them and tempted me )
4 chunks of chocolate :S i couldn't help it, it was the last anyway.
2 cups of tea, hardly any milk and one sugar
1 apple
I know it's not the healthiest food, but my mum needs to do a shop,
and i did an excercise dance video,
tidied my room, which took a lot of energy,
jogged on the spot a bit,
did 300 sit ups,
and 60 push ups.

Today i felt good again my weight hasnt' changed but it's only been a day.
I did my excercise video again, somehow it felt harder today, and i had bran flakes ofr breakfast again, had a wee bit too much for dinner but think i balanced it out ok.
I'm going to do more sit ups and push ups. Been dreaming about my bikini :P

have you tried monitoring your calorie intake with a program? I swear by fitday... but its the only ive tried, there may be others, but it works great for me. I bought a scale and weigh everything, no guesswork, combined with excercise, ive had a very steady downward decline so far.
