Wow, what a few days you have had. Sounds scary and exciting all in one.
Good job on how you are doing so far. Great job on turning to the water when you were stressed.
I am not one for cooking either and my schedule causes me to be on the go alot too. I have turned to my crockpot for some meals. I have had good luck with that. I have a cookbook specifically for crockpots called "Fix-It and Forget-it Lightly". It does not have pics of the food but have some wonderful recipes.
Keep up the great work. |

People just assumed if you're drinking coke like substance it must have rum or something in it - its a good hoax |

You said, you like carrots.. Well, I did some research for you:
In 100 grams of carrots you have 28 calories.
In 100 grams of McDonalds French Fries you have 333 calories. One portion of Medium fries is 114 grams, that's 380 calories!!!!
1000 grams of carrots makes only 280 calories... That's a lot of crunching and chewing.. And at least where I come from carrots are cheap to by.
SO, substituting the fries with carrots, you get to eat as much carrots as you want and still save a lot of calories. Plus, you get a lot of healthy nutrients and fibre which keeps your body going like a well-oiled machine.
I like carrots myself, and I keep them always in the fridge, because they are a really good snack, and you can actually eat them anytime with good conscience.
Remember, you never have to go hungry if you want to loose weight, you simply have to eat things that are good for you and break some old habits!
I'm sure you can do it, and I'll keep on watchin' you
Juliette
PS. About the dishes: just decide that you're gonna wash two plates and one glass today, maybe more tomorrow. It's so much easier to get yourself going when you know it's doable.
How many of us really want to start projects like "tidying and vacuuming my whole apartment, washing all the dishes and ironing all my clothes". I prefer the "putting this tiny corner in order today" -approach.

Rep Power: 16 | | Hey Seny, it's good to hear you are starting out with a food plan, even if it is simple. Taking a couple of small steps, especially at first, will really make a difference. Just make sure to not "replace" the calories in other ways, it's really easy to say "I'm not drinking coke anymore, so I can afford X sweet treat!" but if you do that, then you are really going to frustrate yourself.
At least that is how it worked for me, amigo. Stay strong! ~QJ
Edit: Hey, Juliette has a good point about the cleaning. Just go through and do a "quick clean" on your place. The goal isn't to make it spotless, the goal is to make it cleaner than it was.
One of the things I do is go around with a big garbage bag and just pick up the clutter, it drives me nuts. But I am basically a bachelor with a roommate who thinks I am here to throw things away and do dishes for him, so we tend to build up clutter quickly. It's just an easy cleaning task to do, every few days, just pick up a bag of clutter, and haul out your kitchen trash whether it needs it or not.
It's one of the things that keeps me sane, maybe it'll help for you. Later!

Rep Power: 0 | | Hey Andy, Thanks for commenting on my diary...appreciate it!
You asked if I like living in Washington...growing up I used to hate WA, I always thought it was boring, but then I moved to Alaska for about 5 years, then from there we moved to Massachusetts for 4 years, and now back to WA....and I can honestly say that I love WA (now that I'm older!!) I'm not a city girl by no means! I like my trees and grass and even cows?! lol...
I read what you were saying about having no time to exercise...I can relate with you on that, it is hard for me to find time to exercise, I am a single mother of 2...my son is 12 and is very active from one sport to another, my daughter is 5 and also very active with dance and sports...I work full time and attend nursing school at night....so It's very hard to sqeeze in some time for myself....but I have managed to sqeeze in an hour of exercise a day....I usually do this on my lunch hour....that was my excuse for the longest time..."I can't find the time to exercise" but now it is my daily routine....
I am also an emotional eater....I gained a lot of weight while going through my divorce...I turned to food for security, I knew the cheese cake will always be there for me and wouldn't never reject me...so I did a lot of eating...never thought twice about it...until I reached my highest weight of 222.5 pounds in my head I thought I still weighed 160 pounds...but reality check happened when I seen a picture of myself...and I was horrified...I didn't recognized that person in the picture...actually after seeing that picture I cried...and then thats when I knew that I had to take control of my life!
Making healthy choices is very hard, and I struggle with it everyday...but I have to think what is more important my health or those french fries? But we have to do it a day at a time...and yes, like yourself I wanted to lose these 60 pounds right away, but hey it didn't take me overnight to gain this weight, so I know it will come off slowly...plus it is healthier for you in the long run...
Like I tell my son all the time..."All your hard work will pay off in the end, just believe in yourself...and think the positives, rather than all the negatives...because negative talking will always pull us down."
You can do this...and I'll support ya along the way!!
Oh and congrats on the new job!! |

Rep Power: 30 | | Good luck with all you are trying to acccomplish Seny.
I am relatively new here & new at getting my eating & exercise rountines under control, but this website has some AMAZING people that are just what you need whenever you are hitting those low points where you want to give up.
Sparkpeople.com is another site I have found useful in tracking my food intake & in tracking calories burned. You might find it useful maybe not.
Hope you have a wonderful day & congrats on making the all important steps on the right path. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
