Hey Tom, I felt so old on Friday. I went out and had exactly 2 beers after work. I was in bed by 8:45 and went to sleep at 9:15. Thank goodness they were light beers.

Hey Tom! Missed ya yeterday--welcome to the Bay! Well, I'm in Monterey Bay but originally from the East Bay, yadada mean? ("yadada mean"="do you know what I mean" in hyphy Bay Area talk). Don't worry about cheating--I drank 2000 calories this weekend probably Anyway, I did more before after pics, take a gander:

Looking forward to your journal, have a great day!

WOW! That is a stunning set of pics. I hope one day I will look like the male version of that -- except 30 years older, LOL. What is your body fat percentage, anyway? Must be pretty low by now. . .

Steppin in to say hi, Tom! You have to be burning a lot of calories with all that physical labor, no?

I have no idea! Cholesterol network's measurement test said 20.6%. This Saturday I am getting one at my gym...looking forward to that!

Keep it up--you'll get there! I saw a man in my gym yesterday. I don't know how old he was, but he could have been in his late fifties. He was buff! Standing tall! Great arms! I was impressed!

Good luck in SF!

Thanks for stopping by, Beth & Curvie!

I think I am burning off a lot more calories during the day, that's for sure. One site I saw said that carpentry for a man my size burns 850 calories an hour, and yesterday, we were at it for 9.5 hours. That would come to over 7,000 calories. But I don't believe that. At any rate, I have a feeling the yummy steak dinner Marlene made for us last night won't hurt me at all.

I'm still a little stiff and sore from carrying all that lumber yesterday, and a little more stiff and sore from all the work yesterday. In fact, I'm just plain stiff and sore. I look forward to next week, when I can "relax" with some HIIT, squats, and deadlifts!

It sure is great spending some time with my son like this, though. He's an up and coming fashion designer for a large women's clothing company here in SF, except that he's designing their first men's lines. He's been at it for 3 years now, and is getting write-ups in all the trade press, and is considered a hot new designer on the west coast. Naturally, we are proud of him, but we also are fascinated by this world we knew nothing about until our son entered it.

Ate basically healthy food all day ( LOL, I consider steak a "health food") - eggs & turkey meat loaf for breakfast, turkey sandwich for lunch, steak and salad for dinner, and veggies, hummus, and nuts for snacks.

LOL, I'm trying, I'm trying, believe me. It's just so weird after all these months not to weigh myself every day, not to write down everything I eat in FitDay, and not to go to the gym. I think I'm having a hard time trusting myself.

Breaks are good! And if you gain a few pounds, who cares!? They will come off. Those few pounds gained may help with the momentum when you start back up!

Yeah all that carpentry has to be good for you. Be mindful, but don't obsess. You're doing great.

What an interesting trip you are having.

I can imagine that it would be very hard to switch off all your little counters on command after practicing keeping them switched on regardless!!

It sounds like fun despite all the aching muscles.
