The stories truly are inspirational
| I hate the word inspirational more than words can ever say...
What makes their stories inspirational? they are put into a situation where they'd have to be an absolute moron to fail? they were hand selected because they made good television? what makes them inspirational? |

This industry and its problems really "flip a switch" in me. |

I didn't watch the special but I just read a recap of it on Yahoo. Am I correct in saying that they didn't feature ONE person that put weight back on? Isn't that more than just a little deceptive? What about the contestants that left early in the show and lost hardly any weight at the finale? I'm willing to bet if they were unable to produce results for their tv appearance, that they may have fallen back to their former habits afterwards. Or what about the ones that resorted to unhealthy methods of losing weight during the show -- I wonder how many pounds they packed on after the cameras turned off. What the hell is the point in having a 'Did they keep the weight off show' if they refuse to show that not everyone was successful. Oh well... maybe that's just me... |

I personally get inspiration from people's efforts on here, and when I saw how the people on BL changed their lives and how they now continue to push themselves to exercise and eat healthy then I can "feed" off that to a certain extent. Knowing I need to be doing the same thing.
I should note that I found the way they went about losing weight on the show incredibly unhealthy and ridiculous. But they did have to exercise and sweat the same blood and tears to do it. No one can take the weight off for them, even if they are being handed some extra motivation and a personal trainer. The show I brought up was however more about keeping it off, and since someone else noted that many of the people regained the weight, it wouldn't seem a stretch to conclude that its not so easy to keep the weight off as you suggest, even for these people who did a reality tv show. |

Rep Power: 79 | | I like watching bigest loser, more for inspiration than anything else.
I think a lot of overweight people sit back and are waiting for somebody to take them by the balls, drag them out kicking and screaming and do to them what happens on biggest loser.
Unfortunatly its not gonna happen.
They have to get off their own butts and do it themselves. Screw waiting for motivation, if i waited for motivation i would never have gone/done anything
btw, im curious as to how many kept it off? i can imagine a fair few put it back on to a degree. I recall seeing that guy Matt who married the other girl being fairly overweight again and going around preeching to everyone how to loose weight and thinking it was kinda funny considering how much he had gained back |

Funny thing is they interviewed that couple for the kept it off show and the camera stayed at close range so you couldnt see their bodies. The woman just had a baby so she's got an excuse, but that guy looks like he was also eating for two. |
