Oprahcide Or Death By Oprah

Yes, I realize there is another thread further down in this section where one member is all gushy about Oprah.

But if you want to be objective, you might like to check out this well referenced site - Oprahcide .

The author takes a somewhat different view of the advice offered by Oprah.

She contends that if you follow the weight loss advice offered by Oprah and her hand-picked experts, you will likely fail and end up less healthy than when you started.

I haven't read through any of the links yet, but there sure is a lot of interesting material there.

i've long joked about the oprah diet of the week - she does a lot of good for humanity.. and the publishing world has to love her for making any book she picks be a best seller... however.. her health advice - eh- it's really no better than the women's magazines sold at the checkout stand.

the exception to that -is the you on a diet book -while the writing in the book is written for a 2nd grader... the information is relatively sound -though nothing new or earth shaking...

Personally, I wouldn't take weight loss advice from someone that chubby.

Taking weight loss advice from Oprah is like taking investment information from some salesman that shows up at your house driving a rusted out 1969 Buick.

I looked over the blog and I don't see where they get that Mehmet Oz recommends eating 400 calories a day.

Ha! I think it's hilarious that this person is so whole-heartedly trying to debunk Oz by saying that he can't do math...and then makes a math mistake in his argument! The website says that after you factor in burning an extra 300 calories a day exercising, you then have to eat 300 calories LESS. Unless I'm reading it wrong...I think the number should be 700 calories. Still ridiculously low.

I think it's strange that this person has made such a campaign out of destroying the credibility of the Oprah experts. There are TONS of diet "gurus" out there that have no clue what they are talking about. Why pick just these guys? He seems to have weird vendetta. Not that I disagree with the things on the site (for the most part) but it just appears
