Chipotle is the one that always astounds me - their entire marketing campaign is all about fresh fresh fresh - where fresh is supposed = healthy... but they don't come out and say it..

Nothin' low calorie about it...

the halo effect talked about at subway was a big point in the book Mindless eating ( a really good read) and how calorie for calorie - the average person got out of mcdonalds for fewer calories than if they got a meal deal at subway...

Motivation is not something you find or lose, have or don't have. It is the product of how you see yourself in the world: active or passive, effective or ineffective, powerful or victimized, normal or pathological.

Erroneous.

But yeah, fun read.

I really find it easier to just prepare my own food. Once you've got a good system in place, it saves a lot of time. And not having to concern myself with what kind of mouthbreathing, window-licking troglodytes came into contact with my food also helps me conserve energy by eliminating the otherwise considerable sociopathy expenditure.

I've come to thoroughly enjoy knowing exactly what's in my food, as I basically distrust everyone who's not me. And myself, too (87.6% of the time, +/- 2.3%, 14 times out of 15).

Thats interesting. I need to check out that book. I can see how that could happen but not with me. I would get the double quarter pounder w/cheese and fries lol.

One thing that has surprised me is fried chicken. It is actually one of the better choices out there. We have a chain called Jack's in Alabama. You can get
1 Chicken breast 320 calories
1 Green beans 25 calories
1 mashed potatoes 70 calories

Thats a good lunch for 415 calories. If you are extra hungry or after protein you can even add a leg for another 150 calories. 565 is still not a bad lunch.
Wher people mess up is getting the biscuits (250 each) or fries (360 for a medium) or cole slaw (210) add a Coke on to that and you are in trouble.

I havent checked KFC or Popeyes but I think they wouldn't be too far off our KFC sucks so I never went there anyway..

Amen! Sometimes its hard though. Especially when you are on the go or forgot your lunch, or slept late and then didnt have any bread (me this morning) Its nice to know there are options out there because for most, it will come up eventually.

When my kids go out to eat (they are 5 & 8) - they want seafood or sushi Unusual - but makes it easy for me to get them something healthy!
