Rep Power: 3 | | | The Debate about Fat A "pro-fat" article.
I thought this article was silly and ridiculous to be honest. But I'm welcoming your thoughts as well. To hear people say that we need to be using lard, it just boggles my mind how these people can think that way. |

Rep Power: 29 | | Using fat is healthier and better for you than using alternatives, such as hydrogenated oil.
Obviously, you shouldn't be eating spoonfuls of butter for dinner, but it's not so bad if you use it in moderation. |

The only thing I really try to avoid are trans fats that are not naturally found in products (Milk has trans fats, but it's pretty minimal). I find them unnecessary. They didn't really exist before more recent times in the whole outlook of life. |

Rep Power: 0 | | It's a good article. I was waiting for it to get to omega-3s and was happy that it did. Saturated fat and omega-3s are important components of a healthy diet. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I remember my Mom always had this huge tub of lard in the fridge... She put a big spoonful in the pan of almost everything she cooked.... lol The thing is she never made a huge amount of food. I had a big appetite. I would have had seconds and thirds if she hadn't said.. sorry kid, that's all I made. you'll have to wait till the next meal. lol All 5 of us kids were slim ...I believe it's not what you eat.. rather how much you eat. A small portion of fat is fine as long as you are active and burn it off. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
