I'm always looking to stir up trouble, and I have to say, I've outdone myself on this thread! If you two weren't both married I'd have to tell you to get a room--one with a vibrating bed and a mirror on the ceiling, and maybe a chandelier for Sheryl to hang off!!! Well, Sheryl, we've brought out the perv in another man here on WLF...lmbo..

Excerpts from Consumer Health Digest #07-39
October 9, 2007

“FTC expands attack on Trudeau book infomercial.

The FTC has charged the marketers of Kevin Trudeau's book, The Weight
Loss Cure 'They' Don't Want You to Know About, with misrepresenting
the book's contents in their infomercial. [FTC charges marketers of
"Weight-Loss Cure" book with misrepresenting book's contents. FTC
news release, Oct 5, 2007] FTC Charges Marketers of “Weight-Loss Cure” Book with Misrepresenting Book’s Contents The ad claims that the weight-loss plan outlined in the book is easy to do, can be done at home, and ultimately allows readers to eat whatever they want. However, the plan is complex and grueling and requires severe dieting, daily injections of a prescription drug that consumers cannot easily obtain, and lifelong dietary restrictions. The FTC has already filed similar charges against Trudeau. [FTC: Marketer Kevin Trudeau violated prior court order: Charges him with misrepresenting contents of book. FTC news release, Sept 14, 2007] FTC: Marketer Kevin Trudeau Violated Prior Court Order The new complaint targets Direct Marketing Concepts, Inc., ITV Direct, Inc., and the two individuals who jointly control the two companies, Donald Barrett and Robert Maihos. In 2004, the Commission sued the same four defendants for making deceptive advertising claims for two dietary supplements and billing consumers' credit cards without
authorization. Trudeau and ITV Direct are accusing the FTC of trying
to suppress their free speech. However, although the First Amendment
protects the contents of books, ads for books are commercial speech
that is not legally permitted to misrepresent what the book says.

NHS homeopathic coverage shrinking.

Spurred in part by letters from prominent scientists, the United
Kingdom's National Health Service is reducing coverage of homeopathic
treatment. During the past two years, more than half of the NHS
regional administrative agencies have eliminated or sharply reduced
coverage. Loss of government funding is a serious blow to the UK's
four homeopathic hospitals, at least one of which appears likely to
close next year. [Barrett S. Another UK health service agency ends
homeopathy funding. Homeowatch, Oct 12, 2007]

stuco has a brilliant future
Like everyone is already saying, Kevin Trudeau is a total fraud. The guy has been sued so many times its absurd. He also spent some time in prison in the early '90s. KT sells books now becasue thats the only loophole that he has left.

disapointed

I have to say I'm dissapointed with the responses here.

I came here looking for help and all I see through out these forums are nay sayers and whiners.

It IS a fact you will lose weight doing colonics (hello it's starvation plus flsuhing poo out.. of course you'll lose SOMEthing). John Wayne died with 40 POUNDS of poop stuck in him. Lettuce is a food that gets stuck in the intestines and stays there for years. If you get that toxin out for you that can ONLY be good.

There is proof scientific proof that an alkaline body (which besides colonics, cleansing is his other big thing)... anyway it is very hard for disease to live in an alkaline body. Also cancer LIVES off of free radivcals and what not and it is proven that an.. oh you guys don't care.

the ONE.. repeat ONE person on this entire thread that actually LIVED and DID his book LOST weight.. so far thats 1 for him and 0 against. The rest of you just biched it's too hard. How typical.

Next time you have an opinion have proof and have DONE IT before commenting. What a waste of my life having read this thread to sift through the garbage to see the only real response here of having tried his diet.

You guys come across as very snobby/snotty and clueless. I suppose you're an expert oh wait.. you have no answers or secrets. (and if you think diet and exercizr works on everyone you are sadly mistaken.

OH and here's a big one.. wanna know WHY he said don't drink the water? Because Americans are STUPID and in the 60's decided to add FLOURIDE to the water so "poor people could have dental medicine too". Do you know that flouride is the #1 medicine for what.. 100 years? to cure HYPERthyroidism. Thats for people who have an over active thyroid and are too skinny... hmm give that "medicine" (which btw there is no scientific prood it even helps teeth) to normal ppl and hmm could they become oh i don't know HYPOthyroid and have a difficult time losing weight? You won't catch me drinking tap water EVER. I AM hypo and when i drink water it also gives inflamtion that sends me to pain in terrible pain. But for you "healthy" over weight people probably just makes you fat and lazy.

Did you know a small tube of toothpaste has enough flouride in it to kill a baby?

WHat he says definately makes sense. Do people want to do the work and live cleanly or eat their burgers (which yes of COURSE have preservatives and junk in it to make your cravings worse.. seriously are you stupid?).

Sad sad sad thread.. how misguided. Bash at me all you want but I'm right.

While on the topic of weight-loss, our skepticism has led us to ignore even those weight-loss programmes that actually work. THEY NOT ONLY HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT BUT ALSO make you healthier and more energetic. One such worked for for me after all else had failed. Numerous diets, exercise regimes, got me no results. but this one did.

That's retarded.

Programs are retarded.

Understand the basic principles and figure out how to apply then to you, individually, so they work forever.

You know, Blake, you should stand on your head and drink some of that Isagenix detox juice. It might flush the cobwebs out of your brains.

If it were possible, do you have any idea what it would feel like to walk around with a 40 lb turd stuck up your butt hole?

Try something novel. Think and do a little independent research.

For the record...

No autopsy was performed on John Wayne when he succumbed to cancer in 1979. The medical examiner's office had no reason to hold an autopsy since Wayne had obviously died from natural causes, and hospital pathologists had little to learn by requesting the autopsy of a cancer patient who had already undergone several major surgeries (and Wayne's family would have denied such a request in any case).

In fact, Wayne's relatives were so intent on fending off a crush of media and fan attention after his death that they hired a security guard to block access to his hospital room, had his body quickly and secretly transferred to a mortuary, held a funeral service attended only by family and a few friends at 5:45 in the morning, and had him interred in a plot without a headstone.

Nobody had the chance to perform an autopsy on John Wayne, much less to "run his gut" and weigh the amount of fecal material found within. (Wayne did undergo surgery for an intestinal blockage about a month before his death, but that blockage was caused by the spread of the cancer that was killing him, not by an accumulation of waste products.)

Just another urban legend perpetuated by the "goo and gloo" crowd to scare people into by and large useless colonics.
