Rep Power: 17906 | | | Weight Loss 'Cure' I was flipping channels and saw this guy talking about a 'cure'. Kevin Trudeau. Of course, he says it's the real deal, but you have to spend $30 on the book.
He says that this protocol is not a deprivation diet, but will reset your hypothalamus, you'll lose about a pound a day, in the problem areas only, you won't lose muscle, and you'll never gain the weight back. Wow, all that for only $30 (insert sarcasm smilie here)
omg, he just said it's not a person's fault that they're fat. Seriously, it wasn't all that pepsi and chocolate I ate. He's saying that things are being put in the food (like at McDonald's) to make us fat. Oy, he's annoying me.

Rep Power: 67127 | | Kevin Trudea is always selling some "cure".
He promoted the coral calcium & the natural cures programs a while back & flooded the health food stores with people with unrealistic expectations. He has been sued repeatedly & still finds new things to promote. He has even been banned on selling products, but since he says its free speech he continues to sell books.
Be wary of anything that guy offers. It may actually be ok, but I would be skeptical. FTC has reviewed infomercials
Trudeau is no stranger to the courtroom. He's a convicted felon. In 1991 he pled guilty to credit card fraud — and has a long past of legal run-ins with federal regulators. In fact, he's barred from selling products on television now, as part of a 2004 settlement with the Federal Trade Commission over allegations involving misleading statements surrounding health care products. Trudeau admitted no wrongdoing but agreed to stop selling health care products.
But the agreement doesn't prevent him from selling books.
In Trudeau's complaint against the New York Consumer Board, his lawyers say that both the book and the infomercials have been "reviewed" by the Federal Trade Commission for compliance with the 2004 settlement terms.
"(The FTC) has not objected to the dissemination of either the book or the infomercials," the complaint says.
FTC attorney Heather Hippsley said the agency reviewed the book and early versions of the infomercials hawking the book and found them in compliance with the settlement. But she said Trudeau has multiple versions of the ad, and the agency has not reviewed them all.
Bradford maintained that all five versions of the infomercial have been sent to the FTC.
Meanwhile, Trudeau has sued the FTC, alleging that the agency defamed him when it issued a press release that he says incorrectly characterized his 2004 settlement with the agency.
Hippsley said she couldn't comment on the book, other than to say the agency was "monitoring" to make sure Trudeau complied with the settlement.
Despite Trudeau's history of run-ins with the agency, she said it could not ban him from producing infomercials for his book.
"To ban advertising for fully protected speech would be quite extraordinary and not something you'd want your government to be doing," she said.
Still, Delois Scurry, a 48-year-old Rochester, N.Y.-area resident, said she wished someone had banned the ad before she saw it. Scurry suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes, so she ordered the book a few months ago hoping it contained information that would help reduce her reliance on blood pressure medication.
"There was nothing in it that he had talked about from the infomercial. He said there were cures. There was nothing like that in there ... it was just money down the drain," she said. "It is a big rip-off for him to go on national TV and come out and say there's a cure for cancer."

Rep Power: 298705 | | I'm desperately trying to not write a totally sarcastic answer...
I'm sure Kevin trudeau believes what he says but that doesnt mean that consumers should believe it. I think this guy might be a little more credible if he didn't have the criminal past he does (oh yes he learned from his mistakes and now wants to help others instead of bilking them for their money - yes he'll help by selling you a book ) I also think he'd be more credible if he didn't have the major persecution complex that he does - the FDA and the government are trying to shut him up... mmm hmmm and if he werent a supportor of the cult of scientology
I think the guy is a brilliant marketer and con man - but that's about it.

Rep Power: 0 | | | I saw that same infomerical and almost dialed the number to order the silly book. But I thought about it - 30 pounds in 30 days. Bull. Thirty pounds of what? A secret weight loss clinic in Germany with princes and celebrities. Oh brother. He's using the hook of, "I have a secret that only the elite know and I'm going to let you in on it."
The book is going to be released in April 2007. I know Barnes and Noble will have it. I can't wait to take a look. I bet it's some kind of fasting thing for 30 days.
Like the poster above said, Trudeau has a criminal past. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Concerning Kevin Trudeau's "The Weightloss Cure", you are speaking to the loser that bought it. I am so desperate, I would try anything at this point. the book is the biggest scam I have ever succumbed to. There are over 50 guidelines, including getting 15 colonics in the first 30 days, eating only organic foods, and getting daily injections of hcg (human chorionic gonadatrophin)--things i cannot get in this small town. Also drinking 4 different types of tea daily and receiving swedish massages as often as possible and spending your spare time in an infrared sauna. i paid extra for express shipping, and it still took 3 weeks to deliver--it came with a paper stating "absolutely no refunds on books"--I thought there was a money-back guarantee--I am sooo bummed, I feel ridiculous. |

When I asked them about the paper you were referring to saying no returns, they clarified that they do not offer a Money Back Guarantee on the 2 free books that they ship (customer pays shipping) because no money was paid for those books.
Hope that clears it up for you. Be sure to give them a call and send it back if you don't like it! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Kevin Trudeau Is A Snake! This guy is a dirty lying bastard and should be shot. In his new book The Weight Loss Cure" he claims to have discovered the "magic secret" for weight loss. Injecting yourself with an illegal hormone and going on a 500 calorie a day low carb diet.
Now no shit! Anyone who starved theirselves on 500 calories a day is going to lose weight! |

Rep Power: 5114 | | | You are absolutely right.... There are too many people out there preying on the insecurities and low self esteem of us larger folk. They are criminals and dangerous ones at that. Men who prey on women and children are considered predators, yet people who prey on the insecurities and ignorance of others are called business people.
It saddens me daily to see that so many of the useless and/or dangerous weight loss gimicks that have now been debunked or made illegal back home are hot items on the Chinese market now. Everything from pills, creams, electonic zappers and a multitude of devices that "shake" the weight off of you apparently. Remember those silly belt machines that would shake yer butt and somehow that would make you skinny? HUGE market for them here now, but most people back home have only ever seen them in movies or old tv shows. The ones that get me are the "shaking platform" (you just stand there and lose weight apparently) and the saddle, which really is just a vibrating saddle for women that I HIGHLY suspect has nothing whatsoever to do with weight loss...... Oy. But at least those are just mechanical things. I am sure soon enough people here will be injecting themselves with crap and taking magic pills and starving themselves too. China is becoming too western for their own good!

We'd all like to believe there was a quick cure-all...but the time we waste looking for one is the time we should be making our bodies stronger and leaner. Been there, done that....
