Rep Power: 17 | | What about the dog-walkers?
Not a dead body, but three weeks ago a workmate asked me if I wanted to join him and another for a pint down the pub after work.... "Nah... I think that I should go for a run with the dog instead". Felt right proud of myself for that! Anyway, so later on me and Wolfy went for a run - out of town, through the forest, over the common, past the castle hill, through the town centre, around the corner - then I came across an accident scene. A car had hit a pedestrian, who lay in front of the car in the rain - one arm outstretched as onlookers waited for an ambulance whose sirens I could hear screeching along the town bypass... Wolfy wanted to take a closer look (he likes eating roadkill - always after rabbits and pheasants that have been run over) - but I pulled him away, and we ran down along the river tow path towards home. "poor blighter I thought - hope it wasn't a kid"...
Next day at work I found out it was the workmate who had asked me to join him in the pub. Seems that he had one too many and walked out in front of the car.
Moral of the story - don't go down the pub for an afternoon pint - go for a run ... you live longer! |

Rep Power: 17 | | | I've found a dead dog on a run...but never a dead human!!! That would give me the creeps big-time. The dog was bad enough. |
