I am doing it now....

I too tried Tae Bo in the past but simply wasnt at a fitness level yet where I could stick with it. It was simply too hard to start off with for me. But that said, I have recently begun the Tae Bo Cardio series in earnest again. Now I am more than capable of keeping up for the whole 45 minutes and actually enjoy the workout, even though I am still getting the hang of it. I get an excellent sweat and burn going on from it.

But, I also now do not only do Tae Bo. I have learned many things in the past few months, and alot of it in regards to exercise. There is no set routine that will deliver guarantees results to anyone. The key is to finding what works for you, what you enjoy (exercise doesn't just have to be effective, it can be fun too) and what you can stick with.

Another important thing I have learned is that there is more to effective exercise than just doing one particular exercise. Aerobics are a great steady state exercise, but to really see results it is sometimes necessary to mix things up a bit with some resitance training and stretching. Myself, I do the 45 minute Tae Bo Cardio video 2X per week on top of my 8km of daily walking. 2 nights a week I also do an excellent yoga workout and HIIT on my spin bike, then a further 2 nights are spent weight training. On workdays I walk at lunchtime for 30 minutes and powerwalk home after work for 1 hour. Then on weekends I have now started running. So as you can see I do a variety of exercises, of which Tae Bo is a big part.

I do enjoy the Tae Bo because it does give me a good sweat and feeling of accomplishment. The stretching is good and I like the kick-boxing type workout. I like that it incorporates a good overall body workout and is interesting enough not to make my mind wander.

Will it help you to lose weight? Sure, why not? Any activity is better than none. It is a little tricky at first and requires some patience to learn those funky kicks and punch combos sometimes, but overall you could do much worse.

Good luck with that and let us know what you think of it.
