Weight Loss Programs

Atkins, Fit for Life, Jenny Craig – there are almost as many weight loss programs as people who want to lose weight! Sharing our experiences here will help us all get a handle on the wealth of information — and misinformation — out there.

A Promising Fat-Burn program - any good?

Hello all,
I got a recommendation to this site -
http://www.burn-thefat.com/
This guy sells an E-Book about his methods of fat burning.
It sounds very promising.

Is anyone familiar with this program?
Is it worth a try?

I am friends with Tom, the author. I can tell you flat out that he is one of the most knowledgeable people I know in the industry, as well as one of the most sincere.

The book is excellent. He somehow found a way to cram everything you need to know into one book, while keeping it simple.

I am not a fan of the workout section.... but that is a very small fraction of the book.

I also recommend this E-Book.

I have tried many books before but none really helped me.

I bought Tom's book 5 weeks ago and I've already lost 4 kilos and I feel great!

So go ahead and try this one. You know you can always get your money back if you don't like it (but if you are sincere about losing weight I'm sure you won't need the refund).

I haven't used this program, so I don't know if it's any good. I'm starting another program myself. But the guy who recommended the program I'm starting wrote in a review on this Burn The Fat program and said it's not right for everyone. You have to be willing to spend some hours at the gym. I think anyone who's thinking about this should read his review at Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle - Is this the program for you on Squidoo
Anyway, good luck to anyone who tries this

So basically the guy is saying that it isn't for people who aren't willing to put the effort in.

Man, I wouldn't want to be part of that group.

Hey Steve

Hey Steve, I think the guy meant that everyone is looking to lose weight without making a commitment. I have to say that I'm a bit guilty of it myself. I have an abs vibration belt lying around which is the worst peace of junk that I have ever bought. I don't know what came over me.
I also think that he was talkign about people who don't want to go to the gym. I don't have time for it myself, these days. Too swamped, so I'm not going to use this program.
You wrote that you know this ebook. How good is it? What makes this special?

I think a lot of people, at first, are looking for the easy way to weight loss. The problem is, our society has been brainwashed into believing that this elusive "easy way" is out there someplace.

And it isn't.

Unless you consider the various surgeries one can undergo, easy. Which I don't.

If you want to lose weight permanently, and be healthy from this day forward, it takes a life long commitment, new ever-lasting habits to replace the old, and goals.

Suggesting there is a way to accomplish this without doing these things is fraudulent IMO. Doing this simply fuels this falsification that infects our society that leads to the false-hope that so many have.

I know what came over you.

We all want the perfect body. Who doesn't? I mean, do you know anyone who wouldn't simply snap their fingers if it would transform them into their ideal body?

Probably not.

The advertisers are aware of this powerful desire that almost everyone in our society has. And they feed off of us like vultures on prey. They create belief at the expense of spreading ignorance.

It's sad.

When all along, the only thing that actually works is hard work and commitment.

Tom doesn't say you MUST go to the gym. You could exercise from home and still implement everything.

Actually a very small fraction of the book is geared towards exercise. A vast majority of it is comprised of human development (mind) and nutrition.

Tom has written a book that touches on almost everything I would write in a nutrition book, plus some, and found a way to make it very "readable" for the general public.

He didn't put together some "program" as people like to put it. He put together the basics of what the necessary lifestyle has to consist of if you are in this for long-term results.

I'm not saying it's the greatest thing under the sun. That's not why it's made the list of books that I would recommend (which isn't easy to get on to). It made the list because it is real. Real in the sense that the info is backed by actual science and I know from all of my experience that it is what works. It not a gimmick.

Quote:
I don't have time for it myself, these days.
I never understood that.

People who say this don't have their priorities set right, IMO. What is life without your health?

I could use myself as an example, but I won't. I've trained students going through med-school that still made the time for this lifestyle. One while also having a child and husband and additional responsibilities. I am not saying you have to be super-woman.

I am suggesting that anyone who WANTS to have the time, will.

If you are looking for a "program," then I wouldn't suggest it either..... since BFFM is NOT a program.

I am not a fan of "programs" so I don't know what to suggest for ya.

I think I've said enough as for why I like it. If not, let me know.

I know Tom, the author. He is a very real, genuine person. If you know how I am on this forum, he is me x 100. He cares so much about the people he reaches. He would give anyone the time of day. I can't say enough good things about him actually.

And surely this creates a biased opinion of the book.

However, I read this book BEFORE I knew Tom and I was recommending it to my clients then.

Okay, I read the review that Jasmine32 posted. But is this program really good?
Steve, you know this guy, is his ebook worth having?

as steve said above, it's really not a program where you are told to eat X on monday Y on tuesday -it's a book about making a lifestyle change and guides you in that direction.

I'd love to have a hour fo the authors time just to explain why the website is so awful - hell i'd even donate my services to redesign it don't let the spamminess of the website put you off...

It's a really good read...

Well put Mal.

Haha, so true. It's a real beef I have with many "great" coaches this day in age. Sadly though, it's what sells. Ryan Lee is a "marketer" for fitness professionals that helps these guys set their sites up. And these guys move truck-loads of products.

Unfortunately, it's at the expense of looking "trashy."

Tom has a few sites. I am not even sure which still work.

Fat Loss - All Natural Bodybuilding - Drug Free Bodybuilding - Tom Venuto
Fat Loss - All Natural Bodybuilding - Drug Free Bodybuilding - Tom Venuto
Fat Loss - Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle - Diet Program

he also has an "inner circle" for members only. Actually a site loaded with useful goodies. i am a moderator there, although i neglect it. i hate the forum outlay.

Burn the Fat Inner Circle

I might add Mal, I'd love some help when it comes to setting up my website. The time is approaching, hopefully, and I don't even know the first place to begin.
