Weight Loss Programs

Atkins, Fit for Life, Jenny Craig – there are almost as many weight loss programs as people who want to lose weight! Sharing our experiences here will help us all get a handle on the wealth of information — and misinformation — out there.

why didn't you have success before?

fitday like juliette mentioned is one tool, there are about 50 o r so other free applications out there that will help you calculate them for you - it's up to you to weigh and measure what you are consuming though.

Yea, I doubt anyone is going to do it for you. Especially since things like FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal exist. It makes it very simplistic.

I think the hardest thing for me with calorie counting, was looking at the package's calories and counting those, but ignoring the portion size. A food scale will do you wonders. Measuring cups and measuring spoons too. It's a real eye opener to see the real portion size vs. your own.

yes- thats kind of what puts me off.

its like- i had some maltesers out of one of thos pub machines... it gave me 7...

i will now have to guestimate the size of a proper packet and divide it all up to work out the value of 1 malteser...! ditto with a bowl of strawberries- what classes as " a bowl" ?

usagi- how did u manage to lose 35lbs? and in what time frame?

it seems ideal- apart from 1 thing… its american- so im finding it hard to identify things like “a pack of mccoys crisps”.

Are there any british versions out there does anyone know of?

you can put in your own custom foods. takes a bit of time looking it up but it's worth it to keep track.

either enter your own foods - most packaging has nutrtion info on it -
use a "close enough" - generally potato chips are pretty consistant calories/fat wise
google for a british food tracker

I really like fitday too, some people find it difficult to use and opt for nutridiary instead.

You can find nutridiary at Fitness Equipment, Workout, Fitness Program, Fitness Articles, Beauty Fitness, Weight Loss, Weight Training

I personally like FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal better, but once you have your custom foods entered into the system it can be a huge pain to change if you later decide you like the other better.

I'd recommend checking both out and deciding before you start going crazy with the custom foods.

Good luck!
