I've heard the diet works really fast, with semi-rapid weight loss.. I also heard it's healthy, so I say give it a shot! :]

It's really worked great for me. At first I was really hoping for fast weight loss but now that I've already dropped about 25 pounds I'm ok with only losing a pound or 2 a week, that way I know I can keep it off easier. And I try not to be too hard on myself.

I don't exactly do the South Beach Diet but I use alot of thier foods example
I love there cereal bars and meal on the go bars taste better than slim fasts bars and lunch I mainly buy the prepackaged turkey club wraps with the fat free mini jello 250 for the whole thing. But dinner I like the healthy choice dinners or I make my own baked chicken breast with some sort of veggies.
Snacks SB has a peanutbutter 1 thats good and slimfast does have a snack called peanutbutter crunch and if you are a butterfinger lover this is dead on 1 with only 120 cals and 3or 4 g fat carbs under 20
good luck to ya!

Talking South Beach

I've tried Slimming World, Weight Watchers, Calorie Control, Atkins..

None of em really worked for me (least of all Atkins! Bleurrr)

But I've been on the South Beach plan since June and I love it.

You can eat whatever you want (modified recipes of course)

And it's easy to stick to, plus it makes your skin, hair etc look and feel better

I recommend it!!!!

I like alot of the southbeach dlei wraps and the cereal/snack
bars, I am not really on a plan but I eat alot of lean cuisines
for dinner south beach for lunch weightwatchers for my early
seetooth snack and southbeach peanutbutter snack bars for
late afternoon snack.I just don't care too much for thier frozen
dinners because I am not a big veggie fan and thier dinners have alot
of veggies I dont like.Congrats to ya on finding a plan that works
because thats the hardest part!Tammy

South Beach

I have been on a gazillion diets and have serious trouble losing weight. I ended up going to an endocrinologist and she suspects I have pcos (poly cystic overy syndrome) and suggested I do South Beach and said this is a very good diet for pcos. Has anyone had success with South Beach phase 1 seems hard but then phase 2 seems easy. So I'm gonna give it a try. I did bloodwork on Monday and go back to the Dr next week for a follow up about the pcos. Thanks for any responses.

there actually is a book out there specifically designed for people with PCOS - I believe it's called the Insulin Resistance Diet - I'm not sure how similar the diet is to South Beach - but from what I understand of it - it's a low GI diet (which has gotten a lot of press lately) and it does a lot of (and i'm losing my vocabulary i can't find theword i want) combing proteins vs carbs per meal -- it seemed a little complicated to me - but i do know people who have used it and don't find it difficult once you've done it a few times and have been successful on it.

I'm no doctor and a doctor's advice absolutely trumps mine - but you might want to run by them a Low GI (Glycemic Index) diet or the Insulin Resistance diet by them...

Hi,

Both South Beach and Atkins diets restrict carbohydrates. While “good carbs” are allowed with South Beach, dieters must forgo to potatoes, fruit, bread, cereal, rice, pasta, beets, carrots, and corn for the first two weeks. After that, most of these foods remain strongly discouraged. After a severe 14-day induction phase, banned foods are slowly reintroduced. Tomatoes and onions, previously limited, are now fine. Fruit makes a comeback, too. This stage lasts until you hit your target weight, after which a few basic guidelines apply. The final stage is your diet for life.

South Beach Plans
1. Based on the Glycemic index
2. Focused on a balance of “good” carbs and fats
3. Aims to break the cycle of craving highly-processed foods

You can read more about south beach here: The South Beach Diet Review

I use the Breakfast bars as a meal replacement - my first meal of the day. I usually have two at a time - it is only 280 calories and it keep me going until my 11 AM feeding.

South Beach Diet also makes "wraps"; my favorite are the Chicken Caesar wraps - 2 wraps, chicken, Caesar dressing, and Cherry Jello...all in one package. I believe these are meant to be a meal replacement as well. I've occassionally eaten these - they are pretty tasty. I found them in the "cold cuts" section of the supermarket.

I don't know of any other South Beach Diet products - have you checked their website? Hope that answers your question.

I was doing south beach as meal replacements for a while, but honestly they were too expensive for what you were getting, and not even as healthy as what you could make yourself. I started buying low carb wraps, and then packaged turkey slices and low-fat provolone and making my own wraps for lunch instead of the south beach ones. They taste much better, take about 2 minutes to make, and are likely much healthier.

As for the bars, I still love em. 20 grams of protien from the penut butter one! Its great for me during my busy work day for lunch.
