Rep Power: 0 | | I watched the TV show of 'I can make you thin' [think that's what it was called]. The first couple of episodes seemed really good, basically teaching you not to eat when you aren't hungry, to eat slowly so you know when you are satisfied, and that you don't always have to finish what's on your plate.
Paul claimed these to be things that are natural to people who eat 'normally', or thin people in other words, which is believable.
The last two episodes where more about controlling your mind using strange [to me] techniques and tapping parts of the body, which didn't appeal to me, although may to others.
Definitely worth watching.
Anyway good luck, Mike. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Hypnosis and weight loss Hi all,
I am currently trying a combination of hypnosis, exercise and a bit of calorie watching, and it seems to be working. I have gone from 13st 11lb to 13st 6lb in 2 weeks, but seem to be a bit stuck now, but I'll keep going.
The weight loss cd was from a local hypnotherapist, Andrew Johnson and it is pretty good, if for nothing else than to unwindafter a stressful day. The process of being hypnotised is very relaxing and he has a nice soothing voice! There are some freebie on the site so you can see what I mean
Steph.

Rep Power: 0 | | | I Can Make You Thin with Paul McKenna Hi there,
I am writting about something that I am very passionate about, I was a part of the cast for TLC's new show I Can Make You Thin. I wanted to share a little about the show and myself.
I found Paul McKenna's new show when I was searching Craigslist for film jobs, It was a small post that had the headline "Do You Want To Lose Weight" Um,yeah. So I responded, what I did not expect was to find a staff of people that really looked out for my health and to have my life changed for the better.
Fast forward 3 weeks and filming starts, I sit down and this animated british man runs out on the stage. He starts shouting, "Who want's to lose weight?" He then lays out the simplest weight loss program ever. Here it is
1. When you're hungry go and eat
2. Eat what you want' not what you think you should (the second you make a food the enemy the more you want it)
3. Eat Consiously ( Eat slowly, put the fork and knife down between bites, chew 20 times, slow your eating down)
4. When you think your full, stop (if you weren't full, start over from #1 again)
Anyway, thats the main idea system. So it was a tough first week but I did it and the pounds came off. Next week we taped the show for emotional eating, this was the episode I was featured on. I am in the audience and a person who to closely mimiced my own life was brought in from the UK as a suceess story. it struck a cord with me as I know it strikes a cord with many others. Paul taught us all a technique to handle emotional eating. And that alone has changed my life for the better.
In the next weeks he taught us how to bust cravings, get motivated to take exercise and like who we see in the mirror.
I know this might seem like an ad for the show but it is only one person who understands the mental struggle of being overweight and sharing with as many people as he can.
The show starts March 16th on TLC if you you tube search "paul mckenna tlc" you will see a promo for the show, I am in about 3/4 thru the video.
Good Luck In Your Weight Loss however you get there |

Rep Power: 0 | | | just saw the show I recorded the show yesterday. Very interesting. Like he said, I am already heavy. So, what will it hurt to try? It's free & so guilt-free it's scary. I plan on starting the technique tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. I have the fiancee involved. My goal is 60 lbs. I would be thrilled to lose 20 by the wedding. June 14th is coming up quick! I'm excited for spring too. Getting out & moving will be a nice change. |

Rep Power: 7 | | I'm not sure if it's the McKenna guy, but my boss went to type of seminar (over a 4 week period) and was hypnotized to lose weight... I believe she also quit smoking throughout the whole process too. I dunno if it was really the hypnosis or just that she wanted to lose the weight .
I did want to see the show though, but missed it |

It's about as basic as it gets.
So many people eat in front of the TV, on the go, on the phone, in the car, etc, that they are not paying attention to just how much food they are consuming until they have stuffed their face.
So many people turn to food for comfort, boredom, anxiety, instead of eating only when they are hungry and their body actually needs food.
He has hooked onto the basic concept that if people just take the time to recognize what they are doing instead of trying to do everything as fast as they can, then they wouldn't eat so much, so often, and so poorly.
Our society has created this "more, better, faster" crap, and it has crept into every facet of peoples lives including their eating habits.
He is just going back to basics. Sit down, enjoy your food, eat consciously, and you won't make a pig of yourself
It's actually quite brilliant, simplistic too..... |

Rep Power: 13 | | I didn't like his show either, but I figure if that's what it takes for some people, so be it. I think his methods refer more to taking control, not weight loss. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I've actually been watching his show and in two weeks I've went down a pant size and lost 5 lbs. I'm also using Veriuni products but not so much for weight loss as for nutrition supplements (like vitamins). His program is working for me! |

Rep Power: 0 | | I've this week started using Paul McKenna's method and have to say it's been really good so far. I now realise how much more I was eating before and not listening to my body.
The main aim of this method is to listen for signals from your body, basically doing what comes naturally. I'm really confident this is going to work for me.
I've tried tried loads of 'diets' before and all of them have failed but this is a real common sense way of thinking about it.
Anyone else had any success with it?
