3 Day Diet or Reset 5-Day Cleanse

I tried the 3-day diet twice, losing about 3 to 5 pounds in the process, but felt like I wasn't getting sufficient nutrients I needed (Program posted below). The program consists of eating certain foods throughout the day for 3 days, eating whatever you want (still healthy foods though) for about 5 days then repeating the 3 day diet. Of course, diets to me never really work, first because the media says so, and second I gained back the weight I lost and more. Fad diets hurt. =p However, even as a "fad diet" it did work for that amount of time (a month or 2).

For the Reset 5-day Cleanse, I admit I started working for the company after finding out about it (discounts!) so hopefully no one takes this as spam. lol I'm just posting about programs that worked for me. Reset is a 5-day cleanse that consists of 15 meal replacement shakes with a load of fiber, 10 bars (iced lemon and peanut butter crunch--everything in there is low glycemic), and a 5-day sample of their GMP and NSF-certified supplements plus you can add fruits to the shakes and eat vegetables. The average a person loses on the cleanse is 5 pounds, but I lost 7. It's technically not all fat, it's the poop in the large intestine that's been sitting there since who knows when. Supposedly, the average person can hold up to 22 lbs of poop in their intestines. lol That's interesting. Well, that's the cleanse, but there's also a "Transformation" phase where instead of drinking shakes for all meals of the day, its only 2 shakes and a low-glycemic snack, which makes sense, and a low glycemic dinner. All in all, I lost 15lbs, but my friends and their family lost more, which I'm confused about, maybe they just have more 'toxins' in their intestines? I don't know, but my friend lost 30 lbs in a matter of a few months and her dad lost 45, I think.

I like the 3-day diet, maybe for a "quick fix," say, right before a cruise, but Reset is more of a lifestyle change, which definitely is better. Overall, those are the 2 I've tried.
-------

The 3 Day Diet meal plan:

Day 1

Breakfast

Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal

1/2 grapefruit or juice

1 piece toast with 1 tablespoon peanut butter

Lunch

1/2 cup tuna

1 piece toast

Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal

Dinner

3 ounces any lean meat or chicken

1 cup green beans

1 cup carrots

1 apple

1 cup regular vanilla ice cream

Day 2

Breakfast

Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal

1 egg

1/2 banana

1 piece toast

Lunch

1 cup cottage cheese or tuna

8 regular saltine crackers

Dinner

2 beef franks

1 cup broccoli or cabbage

1/2 cup carrots

1/2 banana

1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream

Day 3

Breakfast

Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal

5 regular saltine crackers

1 ounce cheddar cheese

1 apple

Lunch

Black coffee or tea, with 1-2 packets Sweet & Low or Equal

1 boiled egg

1 piece toast

Dinner

1 cup tuna

1 cup carrots

1 cup cauliflower

1 cup melon

1/2 cup regular vanilla ice cream

In addition to its strict daily food prescription, dieters drink 4 cups of water or noncaloric drinks daily.

How It Works

By some unspecified magical force, the combination of the suggested foods included in this plan is supposed to create a unique metabolic reaction and boost fat burning.

Without an author or book, there is no documentation or explanation of how the 3 Day Diet food combinations burn fat, increase energy, cleanse the body, or lower cholesterol.

As the name suggests, the 3 Day Diet lasts only three days, though it's said that it can be repeated indefinitely, as long as you alternate with 4-5 days of undefined "normal eating." The purpose of returning to your usual eating style is to keep your metabolism from slowing, reverting to fat-storing, starvation mode.

It's interesting -but I'm not sure it's factual -

If a person regularly consumes enough fiber (not hard to do) and drinks enough fluids( not hard to do) then their intestines shouldn't be collecting extra poop.. I find it hard to believe that a person has that much fecal matter in their intestines...

In fact the rumor that John Wayne died with 40lbs of fecal matter has been soundly debunked

I was planning on posting the John Wayne story up, but I've heard so many different information on it, such as, it was 56lbs. or it was 40lbs., and didn't want to bother in case my information was indeed false. However, science and the human anatomy says otherwise. We can hold up to that amount or even more in our large intestines. Maybe not specifically to the point of death, but I would rather be safe than sorry. lol I would never go around walking with that amount of poop lodged in there..I have many more foods to eat. Haha. I agree it's definitely easy to eat much fiber and drink lots of water, but better to drink a shake, I feel, than to eat certain pounds of spinach or other fiber meal. I can only imagine how it would look when I go to the bathroom. Hehe.

most people use the rest room in private so what difference does it make what it looks like?

you're also getting lots of real nutrients from real foods -rather than a shake -not to mention satisfaction...

LoL That's true. I don't want the runs, that's all. Hahaha. Surprisingly, I learned that all the foods are science-based. It is surprisingly very satisfying. However, it IS a cleanse I'm talking about here. What cleanse have you heard of allowed a person to eat real food? I'd definitely love to know. I've heard of the green tea cleanse, hollywood cleanse, etc, and they're all juices/liquids. At least with Reset, it's a thick shake with a bunch of nutrients, with 10 bars, and vitamins--I'd definitely go for that cleanse than suffering on a juice one. lol I hear it's good to detox 2x a year. It literally resets the body and rids it of toxins. I definitely would suggest getting fiber from "real food" however, for a cleanse, where "real food" can't really be eaten for a certain amount of time, Shakes please!
