at your age - nutrition should be a primary focus...

what are you eating?

What is your age/height/gender

Are you doing anything consistently? you seem to start something then give up pretty quickly...

What are you willing to do regularly?

Who does the meal preparation in your house? have you talked to them about your goals and about getting healthy meals?

What you're eating and the number of calories you're consuming are going to be the biggest factor in your losing weight and you're going to need to look at it - not as a diet but as alifestyle change -something that you will be withthe rest of your life if you want the weight to stay off.... which means you can incorporate your favorite foods - in moderation.

Things you'll need to learn - what a portion is... how to measure portions.. and keepign track of what you're eating..

I'd strongly suggest getting an account at FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal or Teen Health and Teen Diet Program From SparkTeens.com which is a site geared towards teenagers who are working on weight loss and for a week or two - record everything you put in your mouth... EVERYTHING - including drinks -

it's tough to cut back on calories if you don't know where you are to begin with.

you drank 40 bottles of diet soda?

Diet soda, even though is sugar free and calorie free -should be used in moderation... it's really not all that good for you or for your father... try switching to water as much as possible...

What about breakfast? Do you eat it?

It sounds like you need to start bringing lunch to school for the foreseeable future. Tators are certainly not low in calories and unhealthy fats.

How about listing an average day's food for the entire day so we can help figure out where you might be going wrong.

Sounds like you should be doing some regular exercise every single day as your metabolism isn't that quick. How about getting outside (if your parents let you) for a 30 minute walk every SINGLE day, rain or shine. I bet that will help get loads of pounds off, especially if you increase that over time.

Most school lunches are unhealthy. Around here they banned soda from all machines, but decided to keep the greasy burgers and pizza, chips, candy bars...which doesn't make any sense. Taking a lunch is your best bet. Or if you eat kind of bad at school just make it a point to eat clean at home.

Maybe try signing up for football or something like that that for more exercise too. I'm not sure if every school runs the same way but most of them here practice over the summer. When I was in school and wouldn't see some of the kids from June until the end of August, they'd look like completely different people to me. You shape up fast from getting yourself on a team.

ANYTHING That you will do consistently will be effective.. but you have to DO IT CONSISTENTLY... that doesn't mean giving up because you haven't lost 50 lbs in two weekls..

you also need to get your nutritoion under control... read the stickied threads in the nutrition forum- print them out so your parents can read them with you... What you're eating now is not good for you in thelong term...

Just a few random tips:

I like to add lots of fresh fruits and veggies into my diet instead of prepackaged snacks.

Move as much as possible - pace while talking on the phone, walk anywhere that is less than 1/2 mile away (increase this over time), walk around the house during commercials, etc.

Record EVERYTHING you eat - check out the sites mal posted.

Always carry snacks with you in case you get hungry so you won't be stuck getting fast food, vending machine snacks, etc.
