Rep Power: 0 | | I've never heard of it, had to do a google search to find out what it was
I will say though, even though I've never had any experience with this particular pill, weight-loss drugs often have an unintended and unadvertised effect of discouraging the development of good habits so that you have to stay on the drug as long as possible. Even if this drug really helps you lose weight, when you come off it, if you still eat junk and never exercise, you're just gonna gain it all back again. So just be careful to watch yourself, and to develop good exercise and eating habits while you have this extra leeway |

a few months ago i was weighed by my doctor and bigger than i'd ever been. i was really depressed and had tried to go on a healthy eating plan and exercise (for the first time) and it actually ended up with a weight gain. so when i was at the docs i asked for pharmecuetical assistance to 'kick start' my weight loss. i couldn't take the speed stuff due to other medications, so she gave me xenical. i think it works BUT there is a price to pay for sure! here its very expensive, so i'd only take one if i'd eaten a meal with fat (i have been taking a few lately as my diet has gone haywire). you definitely get the fat out, but you end up on the toilet a lot and you can't always be sure you've gotten there quickly enough. i don't want to be too graphic, but read the warnings on the pack and be prepared for some difficult moments!
like i said, good kick start, but you will have bot issues. it does help encourage you to eat more healthy meals - it worked for me at least. mind you, i lived in fear of an accident when i took it regularly (only a few weeks) |

Rep Power: 0 | | Thanks for the replies. Yeah the side effects worry me a bit but not as bad as the metforman(sp) they wanted me to go on. I am a type 1 diabetic and eat very well. I stick to my diet 98% of the time and my DR says I need to lose about 60 pounds so wants me to try Xenical. I have a months worth for trial so hoping it works. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Xenical I am curious if anyone has any thoughts on this new drug thats possibly going to be put out there? For info here's an article on Yahoo about it. Personally.. I just think theres gotta be something wrong with any pill they think will magically help you lose weight. That's just not how mother nature intended. But that's just my opinion. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060124/...ZoBHNlYwM3NTE- |

Rep Power: 16 | | xenical! I wondered why i recognised that name..
My doctor actually prescribed that to me about a year ago.. while it actually helped to loose weight it was a total b*tch to use! Basically it stops your body absorbing fat.. so if you ate a meal with too much fat content in it.. it resulted in basically very bad results! I was forever suffering from dioreha... was not nice at all.
I don't recomend this drug to anyone! I certainly wouldnt take it again.. made life hell for me. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I just started taking xenical and I have been fine. I eat a very low fat diet nothing with more then 25 grams of fat and have not had any diareah. Hopefully I lose weight soon. My insurance did not pay for it and it was $208.00 for 90 pills! It better work. |

Rep Power: 0 | | i used it too (there's another thread about it here somewhere). it helped me kick start my weight-loss, i went from 80kgs to 76.5kgs in about 6 weeks.
as the above posters have said, it will only give you the runs if you eat fat. i did find it really uncomfortable (and occasionally scary accident wise), but seeing the 'results' of fat consumption really makes you want to stop eating all that fat!
btw, if you are not eating fatty foods there is no need to take the xenical, addicted2food. my doctor told me to only take it if i was eating fat, otherwise you are wasting your money a bit.. |

Rep Power: 0 | | What I tried (from my friend Stephanie's recommendation) was something called Hoodia. Its this herbal thing and it helped me lose 67 pounds. It is definately cheaper than zenical too. (I looked into it but was too expensive for me). I would recommend it. |

Rep Power: 13 | | I have tried several diets pills and nothing. Not an ounce lost. I find that the only thing I lost from them was my patience and suddenly gave up. I am trying yet another supplement but I have just started it and probably won't notice any results unless I exercise and diet with them. That is my intentions, because I hold too much expectations in diet pills. I know that they aren't going to work magically unless they are with diet and exercise. (Darn, I was hoping to eat that huge pizza then take a fat blocker pill) I think that I can live without the trots.
Have a great day all. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | As soon as I start working out I star feeling hungry when I try to make the meals smaller, I also feel hungry. And there is nothing to be done with that!
Except having Hoodia appetite suppressant! That one works!
