Hey everyone, I'm a single mother who is desperate to shift around 28 lbs, specificallly from the old middle section. At only 20 (and with a surprise baby!) I have been diagnosed with post natal depression although I'm certain my depression stems from lack of self esteem. I need to throw myself into this, for fear of failing to maintain progress.

Any tips for motivating and at-home exercise? I can't afford any equipment but I have a couple of DVD's. Is it worth sticking to these daily? Will I see results with a balanced diet?

Yes! both the dvd and diet will help.

the thing about loosing weight, and no one wants to hear it, but it takes time! A healthy weight loss is 2 pds a week.

There are a few things you can try for weight loss....do whichever works best for you. There are lots of diets to choose from, I am a fan of the 1200 cal diet, myself.

But I've also heard of people working on one thing at a time so that its not so overwhelming. For example,one week, stop drinking pop. then the next week,no pop, but do somethign else, like add a healthy breakfast, and the next week, soemthing else, maybe excersize, ect.

You'll do fine, just remind yourself, it will take time

I am also a mother of one and I can tell you from experience that by doing your DVD's you will benefit significantly. I also do lunges up and down my drive way and squats. I am also trying to get the jump rope thing down since it really burns alot of fat. There are so many things you can do at home. You can use can food for weights if you don't have any. You can get a chair and use it for the back of your arms. We all know how to do ab workouts so all you have to do is do it. If your new at it take your time and ease yourself into it. Before long your day won't be right if you don't work out.

sure elz both the dvdsand the diet will help u . u must not lose courage . u should hang with the program . here is a useful link that i am sure will help to monitor ur diet program and exercises
