Weight Loss Programs

Atkins, Fit for Life, Jenny Craig – there are almost as many weight loss programs as people who want to lose weight! Sharing our experiences here will help us all get a handle on the wealth of information — and misinformation — out there.

Weight loss shakes

Are weight loss shakes or supplements (such as Weight Watchers) safe? Has anyone tried them...what was your experience?

Ive tried something called Lighter Life or The Cambridge Diet (if your going to try any of the two take the second one.) The price is pretty high but you basically drink these shakes or eat bars for every meal. You get a weight loss of over 14lbs each month. The only problem is that its really difficult to stick to. Well i found it like that. lol

The slim-fast drinks do work if you stick with them and exercise good. I lost 8 pounds on them in 2 weeks at one point before slipping back.. other than that, I recomend those, plus they have great flavors

Dunno abt the other shakes or wt loss pdts u mention but basically most of them in the market target at chemically produced supplements to help u burn fat which causes alot of other side effects and probs whereas all ur body needs is the right nutrition (natural) to self repair and lose wt all by itself. U should try Herbalife...I've been on it for abt a mth and lost almost 4 kg but it's not the wt tt matters...best of all, I've lost abt 5cm off my waist and a few more frm my hip and arms and thighs and not hard to maintain as u can still eat the food u like, juz in moderation and take the shakes as a form of breakfast and bfore bed. Need to know more? Can email to me at buffy_charmed@hotmail.com. Totally safe as nutritionists will tell u aft looking at the ingredients cos my mum's a nurse.

Cindy

I like the Medifast shakes, but I'm not really a "shake person" - I do enjoy all the Medifast supplements though - and it seems to work for me!

Ditto that... there's also another brand that i've tried, that i got at my local health food store that was soy based, and the chocolate wasn't bad (and I'm not a big chocolate fan... ) but I like crunch and I like texture... I like food, drinking a shake for nourishment just doesn't do it for me...

I drink a protein supplement called Aria. It is for women. Has a lot of vitamins, folic acid and is low in carbs and sugar. It really fills you up. If your not a woman...I'm sure they have the same for men. You can buy it at the grocery store....usually in the pharmacy area.

I`ve known a lot of people who loved SlimFast shakes! I tried once - the chocholate one! It was okay I suppose, but I wouldn`t last on just that for a few months! No way!

I love Krogers Slim Rite shakes. Much like Slim Fast, but cheaper, and I like the flavor MUCH better. I use it for breakfast, and find that it starts out my day with a tangible reminder to eat "mindfully" during the day. The Slim Rite fills me up, but I've tried Atkins and Slim Fast, and didn't find them tasty or satisfying.

I'm traveling through Wisconsin right now (I'm a fulltime RVer) and they don't have Krogers here. I'm going through a horrible time trying to find a good breakfast substitute, and haven't lost weight this last week because of it.

Herbalife shakes come in chocolate, cookies and cream, strawberry, cappucino, tropical fruits, mango and vanilla flavours so u never ever get sick of it altho not all the countries carry the same flavours. Tt's the main attributes of shakes right? U dun wanna get sick of drinking it and u want a variety plus it works...wat's more, u can mix and blend with non fat milk or real fruits or even fruit juices but real cut up fruits r healthier. Y not try tt? Feed ur cells with gd nutritions so tt they can repair and lose wt at the same time! B healthy! Kill 2 birds with 1 stone!
