Rep Power: 9 | | Thank you I've not been following any specific plan I've just been watching what I eat & making an effort to be more active. I try to walk at least one journey a day & I've been trying to avoid processed foods & confectionary. If i really want something then I just go for it & don't feel guilty so long as it's a "normal" size portion & it's not every day all in moderation eh? Quote:

I tried to break it through will power alone and it was ok for a few days I'd always cave in. So I started making a list everything I ate out of bordom & I felt so guilty for adding to the list that i cut down a lot pretty quick! I don't keep a list anymore but sometimes i still get the boredom eating munchies! Most days I'm ok but I spent all night tonight trying to resist the urge! Argh!
Good luck trying to break the habbit!.., let me know how it's goin'

I just joined, and I am looking for support / motivation in this weight loss journey!
I have lost weight before, but then I always seem to let it creep back on. This time is different though, and I am determined to reach my goals.
I used to eat out of boredom, but I have become a calorie counter. I am not on any specific diet... just calorie counting and exercise.
Sorry to butt in on your thread... I was just hoping to join in the new friendship!

Rep Power: 198530 | | I just joined that competition! It will be my first one since joining... seeing how I just joined yesterday!
I am on no specific diet... I have just been counting calories (1200 a day), and I have been trying to be very active. If there is a day that I can't make it to the gym, I will jog about half a mile around the block (which about kills me! I can't run!), or I jump rope, etc. Point being, I am just trying to be really active while watching what I am eating.
I hope it works!!!

Rep Power: 1144 | | | Yeah, as long as you burn what you are taking in, it's good. If you need motivation, I'm there for you. I've been trying to shed the weight for a couple of years now-it's just difficult when you're the only one and you fall off track. I'm short, 4ft 11", and the weight I am at does not look healthy. My mum is borderline diabetic and heart disease runs in the family- I'd like to try and avoid that. Plus, I have anemia, so I should be eating more nutritious foods, and ones high in iron! |

Yes, as they say it's a lifestyle change that makes it all come together.
So I just need to tell my brain to shut up and listen to my stomach when it comes to the boredom munchies. It's said that it also helps if you don't eat infront of the tv or computer because one minute its there and the next it's gone without you even knowing you ate it. That's happened to me a couple of times.
I have a gym membership which im starting to put to use but i need to think of other things to do in between gym days (I try to go to the gym everyother day). I live in Canada though and it's freezing here so its hard to go out and take a walk. Any ideas?

Do you have MSN so we can keep in even closer contact with one another?
You too sponge, do you have MSN?

Rep Power: 198530 | | I have a notebook that I write everything I eat in. I actually only started that three days ago! I was counting calories before then in my head, but I found that writing it down makes it so much easier!!
I am really looking forward to the competition too!! Now I have to change my weigh in days to Fridays!

Rep Power: 9 | | Hey yes welcome daiseeangel
Liasreadytolose- I've been working with a guy from newfoundland lately and yeah it sounds real cold there! Brr! When it's too cold for me to go for a walk (which since this is a really warm winter for us isn't too often) I do an aerobics video, which i really hate or I go for a swim which I love!
I will PM you my MSN.

We have the same goal. I started at 150 a few weeks ago, and so far I've lost 3 pounds (which means I have 27 more to go)
I feel like this is the short women's club. I'm 5' tall, which means I feel like that 120 is a reasonable goal.
I'm not sure if I'm up to the 2 lbs a week (I've been aiming for one, and this week I failed to make that ), but I'd love to have someone to chat with (or a few someones--daiseeangel and ruthiemorinigo).
I've been keeping track of what I eat (I've been using fitday.com--I like the computer over the notebook) and trying to make sure what I do eat is healthy, plus doing step aerobics 4 days a week and danced base aerobics once a week. In addition, I do a body toning video (light weights, lunges, squats, crunches, etc.) once a week, and a body fusion (step aerobics and weights/lunges, etc.) once a week.
And then I dance 3 or 4 times a week, for at least 2 hours each time.
Oh, and writing down what you eat in your diary on this site helps too (it's there for everyone to see).
It sounds like a lot, but I was doing the dancing before and just maintaining, so it almost doesn't count, unfortunately, which is why I'm trying to step it up and be more active.
