I'm just about to go to the gym and I'm back onto my weightwatchers points (1550 kcals per day). I've another 7lbs to loose but I'm happy to loose 1lb per week now.

My opinion on the 18 in 4 diet is that yes it is a fad diet and yes you can loose alot of weight in just 4 days (I think someone who has alot of weight to loose could loose 18lbs on this diet) but really it's up to you to try and keep it off, that's the hard part. I will keep in touch weekly to let you know how I get on.

As for you two overly obsessed forum bullies yes, Steve and Maleficent. Get a life! You must have a seriously boring life to be constantly putting everyone down. You think we're scammers well do you know what I think, I think you two are either promoting yourselfs or working for this forum website just to wind everyone up! I've done the diet, it worked and now I can comfortably fit into a sexy new dress and enjoy a great night out, while you two sit at you're computers giving everyone abuse. I know where I'd rather be!
Congrats on your success.... that being said. Who cares what you think? You have helped no one with any of your crappy posts. Mal and Steve have helped more people lose weight on these forums than most trainers do in their career.

Oh, by the way, enjoy your fucking night out in your "sexy" new dress.

All kidding aside, I could not disagree more with that comment. I've been around long enough to see you try to help everyone that shows they really want to work for their goals and realize a few simple facts (i.e. has respect for whats been posted here before).

You know, I was thinking about saying something but then I thought, 'why put your nose it in?' Should have put my nose in it b/c you echoed my sentiments exactly ~ thanks for saying it first!

I usually butt in... this is a forum and she has as much right as she does to come at those two just as I do to respond... so I figure if this is how the conversation is going to flow I am a poster and can comment. If she wants to rebuttal she can... she won't make a valid point though, none of her posts have any validity to them.

I hate this stupid thread.

I'll do everything in my power to make fun of it to prove a point. If you don't get the point... I feel sorry for you and your dieting attempts.

6 lbs in 4 days.

Big whoop.

Short term thinking.

Yay for you.

Water loss.

Awesome.

I could have someone lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks.

What would that do for them in the long run?

This thread is a display of idiocy at it's finest.... and I'm not speaking to any one person directly.

Saying that Mal and I are here only to bully people and cause drama on the forum proves said idiocy.

The degree of clueless-ness is really sad, to be honest.

I'll tell you what... I'll find one positive here. There's hope!

There's hope for individuals such as myself who hold themselves out as a professional in the field of training and weight loss. That hope lies in the fact that if I ever need to sell out of my values and beliefs in order to make a buck, there will be a shit-ton of bat-shit crazy suckers who I can con out of forking over their cash in exchange for their hopes and desperations.

Good to know.

It's no wonder this industry is in such shambles. The end-user (the consumer) demands very little in terms of fact and competence in so that the companies and the trainers don't feel accountable to their customers.

Oh yea...

And the truth is in the pudding.

Go through this entire thread and see how many people who participated in it have less than 5 posts.

For you suckers, I'd bet your logic would assume they're off being happy and skinny, saved by the 18in4 diet.

Ya....

Right.

But alas, we know that's not gonna happen - ethics and values are part of those rippling biceps of yours - you work hard at them and they aren't going anywhere

I've said elsewhere - desperate people, and I was one of them for entirely too many years, in the absense of good knowledge are willing to beleive a mirage and fork over money for said mirage - but it is just that...a mirage that doesn't last... knowledge lasts... and will do everything in my power and vocabulary to prevent people from making the sam

God forbid someone shoots straight at someone.

I mean, I'm sure I'm coming across as irritated. I'm not though. I'm used to this sort of nonsense. It's the same story written on a different paper. They all sell the same snake oil and cause the same problems.

It's really funny too.

The people who finally come here throwing their hands up in desperation looking for honest help....

They all tried these same gimmicky products. They were as the individual above was claiming "I lost 6 lbs in 4 days." Because of this, they claim the diet 'works*.'

And look where it gets these 'experienced' people. Right back here asking for real help. They understand that the fads and short-term approaches don't lead to long-term success.

*I'm damn happy there are a few people who actually understand my definition of 'works'

Any fool knows that any 'diet' works as long as it puts you in a caloric deficit. But what's the big deal... if that were the only criterion required to prove the efficacy of diet, we'd be in a world of hurt.

Exactly... and the smart leaders of this forum will steer people from using those gimmicks and snake oils (such as some of the conversation we are currently having). I applaud you for speaking up and sticking to your beliefs without letting people shit on your PROVEN track record.

And I applaud Mal for also keeping a cool head when she knows better... I suppose I just don't have the same patience as some people do

and ya know they did it 12 times - every time they used the diet it worked - but - I tend to define works as something that keeps the weight off for good -not a short term thing to fit into a dress..

though there is that dress hanging in my closet... hmmm..
