mixing the foods?

Juella, you have got to be kidding! You don't mix all the foods together! I have to stop now before I say something really derogatory about your intelligence. Anyway, it's good that you found a different diet, because the 18 in 4 is crap. And whoever said a diet doesn't have to be nutritionally sound if it's only for 4 days is wrong. Sure you can survive without food for 4 days, but what price does your heart pay, or your kidneys or liver? You are taking nutrition away from your body on purpose. Plus, the website also says you can repeat it over and over to continue the weight loss. It should say, "Repeat until death." Then you can die skinny.

These diets always work. You are hardly eating anything, stuggling to survive and running around for several days. You will lose weight, mostly water, through laxitives and pain. You will only lose a little fat and then as soon as the diet is done, your body is under so much stress that you overeat and your body punishes you for your stavation by overeating.

Wow I gotta say it's disappointing and also pretty sad how gullible so many of you are. Or is it lazy? Believe it or not, I guess no one's heard this before... You don't get something for nothing. Meaning.... You have to get off your ass and put work into yourself if you want results. Eat properly and exercise. The concept is not that foreign. Why in the world would you expect this shit to work? And if you did lose it, I'd love to see how quickly you'll put all that water weight right back on.

Wink Pray for me-- I'm going in.

Hello,
I have read everyone's post on this subject (18in4) just to see if the plan really works. I have noticed alot of interested parties and not so many willing to take the plunge (which is understandable). I was a little disappointed that many who stated they started and would post their results didnt. Are you still alive, I hope the diet didn't kill you. ;-). Well I cracked under pressure and high hopes, as a result I purchased the plan from the site (@$37 though) and just read over it. It looks alot like the Danish diet to me with a few differences. I survived the Danish diet for 4 days and lost an amazing 7 lbs. Two days later, those 7lbs found me. So I do kinda believe it was water weight. But the money has been spent now, and I am going to give it a try. As Arnold Swartzneiger (?) would say, "I'll be back."

Everyone pray for me as I will pray for all of you.

Talking

Well gang... I just downloaded the diet and will be embarking on 4 days of detox just as soon as I get to grocery shopping for what I need.

It is very very true that this is not a sufficient calorie healthy diet. It definitely should NOT be used continuously. I completely agree that any weight loss will be mostly water weight. But, once you lose the water weight, it makes the fat melting the next step. So, this would be great to kick off a diet... which I am planning to do. Um, ok let's make that a lifestyle change, not a diet.

Alikat - I definitely understand where you are coming from, but I think it's more likely to die from 4 days of eating greasy fried foods, high in salt and sodium, and loaded with fat, then from four days of fruits and vegetables and lean proteins. The key to this program is to remember it is NOT a long term fix, but rather a kickoff and a detox from white sugar and flour that are difficult to digest.

Ronnievm- I will certainly pray for you. I hope to see you return with your results. I will return with mine, but am not sure which day I will start on. Here's to happy water weight loss

The diet is a joke, the claims are a joke, its a waste of time and a waste of cash.

Quote:
The 18-in-4 program identifies common, but specific FRUITS, VEGETABLES, CHICKEN AND BEEF that are eaten in specific combinations. These combinations of specific everyday foods safely work with your body's chemistry which causes the accelerated weight loss.
Trust me, I know my stuff more then enough to know how wrong this claim is...

Selling the dream

Morning,

What the 18 in 4 or 23 in 2 or 16.3 in 5.6 do is simply sell you the dream. Infomercials have been doing this since the dawn of time - check out The Pitchman for how salesfolk manage to tap into your dreams.

It's marketing, pure and simple. The copy (wording) is designed appeal to your emotional senses....thus freeing up your wallet and causing the money to flow in the 'away' direction.

Can it help you lose weight? Sure it can (especially if you have lots of water weight) - it's common sense. Anything that causes you NOT to eat bunches of food, drink lots of water, etc., will do that. Heck, the Atkins induction will do that too (and you get to eat lots as well).

I have little problem with people selling their diet tips/fitness tips/etc (if they're being totally honest and not trying to scam consumers).; it's a free world. It's up to the consumer to research things that always sound 'too good to be true'. After all, you're ultimately in control of your own body, you must take responsibility for all of your actions.

That being said, this is one reason why I love this site and others similar - it has bunches of folks sharing what works for them and their own personal experiences. Reading the postings here is a great way to uncover guidance for what works for you....that's what I did myself back in December.

Hope that helps,

Barbara

I would be very grateful if you would be able to email me a copy of the diet I am unable to purchase it from the internet as I do not have a switch card or a credit card. I understand you have paid for this and may not want to pass it on but I would be very grateful if you could as I have tried everything now to lose this weight including going to the gym everyday but I soon tired of that after a couple of months and now I am finding it really difficult to deal with this weight.

Many thanks

You know.... if you're willing to throw money out freely, I'd be more than happy to send you a few gallons of water and write you up an eating guide... (decorated nicely with colored crayons, of course... because I'm all about quality.) for only $10. I'll just throw this out there since it seems a lot of you are searching for a quick way to lose weight.

-Sheryl

And if you act now within the next hour, I'll even send you the attachments for a home colonics for FREE. Just hook it up to your lawn hose and you're ready to go.... literally.
