I wake up refreshed and ready to exercise. The bloating is not as much also.
Try the 3 hour rule. Every little change helps on long term weight loss. It is sticking to it that is difficult! |

Rep Power: 0 | | i totally agree, i've not eating after a certain time at night, and i feel a lot better in the morning and also lost weight, because the metabolism slows down close to bedtime, and the food that takes in doesnt metabolize fast enough and gets stored as fat. |

Rep Power: 0 | | It's a myth. Calories are calories, no matter what time you eat them.
The only reason it works is because you eat less calories when you skip the late night snacking. Most people find it easier to stick to a diet during the day, but find it harder at night. By cutting out those nighttime snacks, it does help.
However, I eat every three hours while awake, and that usually includes a small snack at 9pm. IE: 8 oz skim milk, or a few natural almonds, or a piece of lf string cheese, or a couple whole wheat crackers w/ pb. |

Rep Power: 18 | | This is always a downfall for me -most days I work until 10pm, getting home about 10:30-10:45pm. I can eat at work but the meals served up there are usually not suitable for my diet in some way so I usually end up eating a meal thats been put by for me when I get home -and then getting STRAIGHT into bed. Probably a big mistake... I will try to remedy this I think. |

Rep Power: 79 | | yeah its somewhat of a myth. So long as you eat less calories than you use, doesnt really matter when you eat.
Im a classic example. Im a night time eater. I cant sleep on an empty stomach personally |

Rep Power: 18 | | But it does make sense that you will use less calories in your sleep -so it is going to be more damaging to pack with calories right before bed than in the daytime... |

Rep Power: 0 | | It still doesn't matter what time you eat. The only thing that does matter is that you eat a good breakfast when you wake up because your body hasn't ate anything in like the last 8 hours so your metabolism has slowed down a lot.
Ugh... speaking of sleep, I can't sleep. It's almost 4 in the morning. lol. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | I've heards (though I don't know how true it is) that you should eat something small like a cracker or a piece of cheese just before you go to bed to boost your metabolism while you're sleeping so that it doesn't totally shut off for the night. It makes sense, but like I said, I'm not sure how true it is. |

Rep Power: 15 | | At least according to the book "Body by God", it makes a difference WHAT you eat at different times of the day. For example, you might want to be heavy on the complex carbs first thing in the morning so you can use them throughout the day, but you want the opposite at night. If you can burn them, that's fine, but if you load up on carbs late at night, you cannot use them entirely while you sleep, so they get converted to fat. The evening meal should be more protein oriented than carbs because your body does most of its muscle repairs while you sleep, especially the last 2 hours or so. |
