Ok, if you enough cabbage after this diet you will never want to see or eat cabbage ever again!
You eat the cabbage soup for one week, and during the one week you are encouraged to eat 10-20 ounces of beef. The soup is made of cabbage, onions and tomatoes and flavored with boulillon, onion soup and tomato juice. You can lose between 10-15 pounds in this week.
The cons with this diet is that people have reported to feeling light-headed, weak and have suffered from decreased concentration.
The pros are you'll lose weight fast and it provides a great kick-start for a more moderate diet.
Hi,
Hopefully I will give a great run down of this diet. At this time I am dreading the thought of it. I have cooked the soup tonight - managed to make it as flavourable as possible. Cant wait to eat my grapefruit for breaky.. not. I am determined to stick to it for the seven days and move into an atkins plan, but for the time being we will see how it goes. I will post at the end of the week with a big analysis, and keep a record in the diary. Take care....Here goes nothing.....
Leddy
FT...if you do it, let me know how it goes!! I'm curious if the weight stays off after that or if you'll gain it back after returning to your normal (diet) eating??
oh you should try the sacred heart diet instead, it allows you a little more variety. its a soup too (for 7 days) but you can eat some fruits and veggies too.
oh whoops lol i didnt even realise that was from 2 years ago :P lol i was thinking of doing a soup diet for a week or so, but i dont really want to have to much salt and soups really salty, ive read about the sacred heart diet to, maybe ill give that a go
There is mos def some real weight loss from soup dieting. And no it does not have to be cabbage soup lol. But high fiber like cabbage is the idea. Vegetable, lentil, etc. I'd say the weight loss during a soup diet is perhaps 50% real weight loss, but it can be so easily regained when you gorge on real food again to make up for it. My experience with soup diet was, its great for a couple days, but its unsustainable and cannot be counted on for long term consistency. However soup is great to have in the cupboard as part of your diet, not the whole diet. And we're talking clear soups here, not clam chowder, cream of this cream of that etc.
thanx! does anyone know how u can stop urself from gorging after a diet? its probably been said a thousand times..but im sick of ruining everything any ideas?

I think its ok to gorge to a certain extent. Just fill up on healthier choices. Don't eat restaurant food, buy all your stuff at the grocery store so you aren't tempted to go 'grab a bite' at the closest drive thru. Drive thru's are the most evil devilish thing and your worst enemy, don't go to them. If you think about it, everything they sell in fast food can be easily made at home with much lower fat and calories. Instead of McD's, cook your own burgers with lower fat meats, and bake your own fries in the oven. Instead of going to the dairy queen, buy a container of light ice cream in the smallest container. When its gone its gone, don't buy another one until you have to get a whole grocery list again. I even saw whole wheat Digiorno pizza in the freezer aisle the other day. And of course before you go grocery shopping, eat something. Make your shopping choices based on rational decisions, not hunger. For every item you think you shouldn't be buying, buy it in the healthiest form and smallest quantity, then go and buy 2 more genuinely healthy items to make up for it. And those flyers that come in the mail that advertise every fast food and restaurant in your entire area, throw them away! Don't even read them. Just save the grocery store ads tho
We've tried the cabbage soup diet several times in the past. It's not easy to stick to. It does provide a good jump start to weightloss, however it does leave you weak and terribly hungry and you'll never want to look at cabbage again! LOL!
We've recentlly tried an overall bodycleanse, it's a cleansing and fatburning system that actually rids your body of toxins that fat cells hold on to. A significant side effect is healthy weightloss and for many people it's dramatic. I lost 8lbs in 9 days and 13.5 inches. My husband lost 20lbs and 27 inches in the first 9 days. It's a system that has a couple of meal replacement shakes or bars and your body is flooded with high quality nutrients and trace minerals. What we found is that we no longer crave the fast foods and junk foods that we used to. The system is very manageable in that we are not hungry in between meals. We can have snacks and basically our body/blood sugar is in balance the whole day. We feel great and have started recommending it to everyone we know that is interested in losing weight or just being healthy in general. I'd be happy to share more info with you, just pm me. It's been wonderful being able to help so many others now lose the weight they've struggled with for years.
thanks for the insight guys! the only problem with shopping is that i live with other people, so they always have crap in the house im trying to avoid ill try to harder avoid them though
Thanx isamom, i am really interested in what the cleanse entails and such...im looking at certain supplements, programs and stuff now.

Yeah I too have roommates. But they eat junk food in the purest form, stuff that I never even liked. Ho Ho's, twinkies, all kinds of other disgusting greasy crap. I myself gained weight from eating too much real food, meats, cheeses, breads, etc. Anyways, if they have foods that tempt you, ask them to help you out. They can keep all the non perishable stuff like potato chips and whatnot in their own areas. Tell them not to share with you their stuff. If you tell them this and they come and find you ate half their package of cheese slices, they may catch onto this enforcement thing pretty quick
