Rep Power: 0 | | Weight loss plans for college students? I think one of the greatest hinderances for college students as far as weight loss goes is the fact that we have very little control over what we have to eat. I know at my school, at least, for a person who detests salad, there are few healthy options. Also, places to exercise are pretty scarce. I'm joining the Y soon, but I was just curious - does anyone have tips for college students who need amended workout and nutrition plans? |

Rep Power: 24 | | | What college do you go to? Isn't there a gymnasium that you have access to for free as well as campus recreational activities? You will not need all of your credits for you major, so why not try out some of the physical education classes that are offered?
I am a commuting college student, so I park across campus and walk to class whenever possible to get in that extra activity. Also there are lots of sidewalks for running and biking all around my school. Of course, I'm sure this may not be the case all over. See if you can find a buddy and hit the track at the college a few times a week or walk around campus.
I'm not sure about the food options though as I have never had to deal with the food on campus. Is there a place where you can order grilled chicken sandwich with no mayo etc since you aren't into salads all the time? Or can you have bread and lunch meat in your room to do this? |

Rep Power: 10 | | | Thats sort of sad.. My cafeteria isn't too bad at all for choosing healthy foods... Ever also think of looking outside of the college... most colleges and universities have at least a strip mall across the street or something, with a few food places such as subway, if your lucky like me, a grocery store too. |

Rep Power: 218 | | | are you allowed any appliances in your room? small fridge (the one i had could hold a case of beer and snacks - lose the beer and you've got lots of room) toaster oven or hot pot could also give you lots of cooking options.
Back when the dinosaurs walked the earth - it was pizza delivery to supplement the really bad food in the cafeteria and the copious amounts of alcohol that were the killers... |

Rep Power: 18 | | Most universities offer free fitness centers and gym equipment. Take a Physical Activity class...they burn calories and they're fun! Avoid snack machines and soda...buy your own healthy snacks at the grocery store. Raisins, granola bars, nuts, and fruit are easy to carry around and convenient. A lot of dorms have kitchens as well. My boyfriend and I used to get wheat pasta and spaghetti sauce and cook together. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
