Rep Power: 23 | | I have had a PT for the past year and I have loved it. He has helped me and pushed me to do things I had never even thought I could do. I really lucked out and got placed with probably the best trainer in my whole gym because a lot of the other ones there are worthless... He has really helped me out and made me feel a lot more comfortable with going to the gym and lifting weights. I saw my trainer 2 times per week for about 9 months, and then switched to just once a week, and then I am going off on my own in June or so, just because I feel like it is time.
This is just my experience, and it's been awesome. If you do decide to go ahead and get a personal trainer I hope it all works out great and you reach your goals

Rep Power: 0 | | Hey, I feel your confusion. I am wrestling with the thought of getting a personal trainer. My aunt has one and has lost like 50lbs over the past few years and has kept it all off. Another one of my coworkers is shrinking before my very eyes and she has a trainer also. I have started doing some research and came across this article which I thought was helpful. Give it a read. Maybe It'll help you figure things out. Should I Get a Personal Trainer? - 24 Fit Club

Rep Power: 182 | | | It's just important to keep in mind that not all trainers are created equal. When you go to a doctor, for instance, you can pretty much expect good advice, on average, relative to whatever ailment you have.
That's not saying all doctors are good, b/c there certainly are bad ones. It's simply suggesting that most are competent.
This really can't be said for the personal training profession, unfortunately.
Just as I'm sure most of you would do research to find a really good doctor if you were in need of help for a serious condition, you should do even more research when it comes to trainers before you go dropping a shit ton of money each session. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
