Rep Power: 553 | | | Numbness on the Elliptical When I'm on the elliptical (usually for about an hour but would like to do more) at some point for a few minute the ball of my right foot and a couple of my toes kinda gets a numb/odd feeling I usually work through it and it goes away. Does anyone know what this is? Or any way I can't make it not happen anymore?
Thanks,
~Jenna |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Reminds me of sciatic nerve issues, when it happens do you get any lower back pain or pain down your right leg?

Rep Power: 536 | | | That happens to me also on the elliptical, usually after about 15 minutes my little toes on my right foot lose feeling... I find I am putting more pressure on my right side, so i try to make an effort to focus on my left, it usually goes away. Good Luck!

Rep Power: 357932 | | | why do you want to do more than an hour on the elliptical? if you don't think you're getting a good enough workout, increase the intensity rather than the duration...
but it might be caused by your foot being in the same position for too long...

Rep Power: 553 | | | I know I don't have a sciatic nerve problem because I've had bursitis in my hip and the doctor originally through it was a sciatic nerve problem. Thank you for that suggestion.
Mal you may be right about it being because my foot is in the same position for so long. I would like to do more than an hour for endurance and stamina. When i played sports all the time I could do cardio for hours at a time and not have a problem. |

Rep Power: 4316 | | | Your foot just fell asleep! I find that if I put to much pressure on my feet that the blood supply gets cut off and my feet fall asleep...just hop off for a minute of move your feet every now and then.

Try to keep your shoes tied a little looser when you're doing the elliptical too, that may help.

Rep Power: 12673 | | Yep this happens to me too! Usually my right foot about 20 mins into my work out. I just wiggle my toes when i can to avoid it, and try to distribute my weight evenly on both feet (much more difficult than it sounds!)
Just abt to head to they gym soon, so will prob notice it even more now!

Rep Power: 0 | | Same here! It only happened 2 days ago when I was last on the elliptical. I realized that most of my weight was on the inner edges of my feet (big toe, etc) so the outer edges numbed like crazy. When I started "walking/running" on the entire surface of my feet, I was relieved. I hope you find your niche as well when it comes to Ellipticals!
