Thumbs up Lifting success

Morning,

It's been now 11+ months since I've started my get-healthy lifestyle. Back then, I began my weight lifting like so:

15 pound dumbbell curls
90 pound assisted chinups
55 pound chest press
60 pound row
60 pound lat raise
90 pound lat pulldown

Today, one week before surgery, I was able to do:

35 pound dumbbell curls
Unassisted chinups
110 pound chest press
110 pound row
110 pound lat raise
145 pound lat pulldown

I mix and match free weights with the cybex room, and am pretty pleased with my improvements. My challenges next week, of course, will be to lift while in recovery (or I might even (gasp!) give myself permission to actually take a break :-) ).

Enjoy,

Barbara

Hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee!

Take a gander at my femur and you'll see why I don't do lower body work. Luckily, I'll be having surgery next week to get rid of all the thingees in the yellow circles.

This is also why I don't do any kicks in karate either. After I recover, however, I should be fine and ready to go. Back before my leg problem got too bad, I was doing leg presses of 210 pounds.

Best wishes,

Barbara

That's amazing! Good job on all of your hard work. How long until you are recovered after your surgery?

It's a drive-by surgery, so I'll be home the next day and on crutches/a cane for the foreseeable future. However, I generally do have a remarkably quick recovery time (I was up and walking the next day after all 4 C-sections and an appendectomy), so I'm in hopes I'll get back to normalacy sooner as opposed to later.

Data points,

Barbara
