My friend is in the process of losing weight and asked me if there was a girdle brief that hides muffin tops? I looked into spanx. Are these a girdle or a tight brief. Do they work? If not, what has worked for you?

the best cure for a muffin top is wearing bottoms that fit.. most of the muffinness is caused my too tight bottoms..
however - spanx are great underneath clingy or knit clothes... and are especially good because they ride up fairly high past the waist... so that you get a smooth line... they are a pain when you have to pee quickly though -having to undress..

Spanx are amazing!! The really smooth out any lumps and bumps and leave a sleeker silhouette. Mal is def right abt wearing bottoms that fit properly and arenot too tight. Combine properly fitting clothes with the Spanx uderwear and you're sorted
Btw, my fave garment is the longer shorts. They cover from just under the bust to mid thigh and they never roll up or down (providing you buy the right size). You cant see any outline under your clothes either.
I sound like a sales rep but i do love them!

She bought Spanx and likes them, but thought hanes bodywear was better and tighter around the waste. Go figure something at kmart would work better for her and way cheaper.

I am new here, so hi everyone. Wow, I have muffin tops too. I think I'll check into the hanes as money is tight.

I am not sure what spam question you asked, and it looks like it was deleted, but I do prefer hanes over spanx. Spanx are good overall, but the hanes body wear has a tight band right over the muffin area.

I have tried the new body shapers that everyone is raving about! I am from Chicago and i bought mine from hourglassangel.com. I totally got this muffin top because i use to wear low rise jeans when i was a size 4 and since last year i went up to a size nine! My body was totally misshaped by my jeans but my bodyshaper helped to put everything back together

I have one from walmart. i like it mostly just to pick up my sagging tummy and smothes things out... the only thing i dont like is as it puls up my front and inward on my sides it causes my tummy to look more rounded out where it would normally be flat... it's probably just me because of my size and someone smaller may not be so obvious and maybe its just obvious to me who knows but thats been my experience so far...

Oh I know what you mean, I bought something pretty cheap from target but the one i bought from HourGlass Angel is made of stronger materials. It's a little more expensive but it's one of those things that helps to make me feel good when I look myself in the mirror. Definately worth it.
