Rep Power: 383 | | | Leslie Sansone's Walk Slim? Recently i started her 4 mile 10 day challenge... i am really enjoying the videos but i was curious and hoping i could find others who love leslie sansone... Does anyone know from experience how well this program works??? i read in a magazine yesterday that this woman had lost like 50lbs (+ or -) in 7 months from using leslie sansones walking videos... is this plausible??? i sure hope so!!! |

Rep Power: 357932 | | | 50lbs in 7 months -depending on a person's starting point is absolutely do-able - - it requires consistent behavior..
Most people - a reasonable expectation is about 1 percent of your body weight a week - but - in all honesty - i wouldn't get hung up on the scale - it's just a number -take measurements - take regular pictures - see how your clothes fit etc...
I'm not a fan of exercise dvds - so haven't used them - but I know of people who have.. - it's a way of exercising -don't expect miracles -you need to do the work -but followng an exercise plan and eating right - you will get the results

Rep Power: 1320 | | Why do you need a video to tell you to go walk 4 miles, why not just do it yourself.
Walking works, it's how I lost my first 30 lbs, just make sure you track how much you walk and try and either keep hitting that mark or try and push your walking amount (only when you feel ready).
By the way, I lost 50 lbs in 4 and a half months through eating less, eating healthier, and exercising a lot more. No products, no gimmicks, no DVD's, just hard work, so yes 50 lbs in 7 months is plausible. :-D

More low-impact aerobics, designed for people with little or no coordination. By the second run-through, even I could almost follow along.

Rep Power: 383 | | | thanks for the replies everyone...
i will start taking body measurements... i know better than to get obsessed with the scale (these days) ... last time i started and quit a program because i was soo obsessed with the number on the scale i didnt notice any of the healthy side effects. Right now i keep my goal size jeans in the closet and every couple of weeks i take them out and see how much closer i am to getting them zipped...lol... but actually keeping measurements would definitely help in the long run soo i could tell how many inches i had lost thanks for the idea, Maleficent!!!
Matt, thanks for the (not-so-subtle) teasing! jk jk lol!!! that is really amazing that you were able to see those kinds of results... also thank you for the confidence that if i work hard i too can see those kinds of results!!!
like Allyphoe said... it is meant for people like me who lack coordination (haha) and is more of a convenience than anything else... its walking/jogging in place combined with cardio moves... but it is a definite cardio workout!!!
i have a pedometer... but at the moment i am somewhat frightened of walking outside alone... i live out in the country and last week on the day of my graduation my cat (leibschoen) got outside unnoticed because of everyone coming in and out of the house... and two dogs ate her and scared one of my other cats (lazarus) 25 feet up a tree... i am not sure whether the dogs are malicious towards humans or not... they have killed some of the other neighbors animals as well... and the humane society wont help and no one has been able to get a shot on them... nothing has been done... |

Rep Power: 9 | | | I love Leslie Sansone... walk walk walk....lol. It's really a no excuse exercise especially if it's raining or you just don't feel like getting out plus you can do it in the privacy of your home. I do her Walk Away the Pounds 3 mile walk about 3 times a week on top of other things and I really enjoy it. Let me know what you think of it. TTYL! |

Rep Power: 22095 | | | I really like Leslie but her DVD's are mild. After a while you might feel like you aren't being challnged. I'm fat and out of shape but her walking doesn't do much for me at this point. I like the ones with jogging but even those are much more mild than actually going out and running. I would love for her to come out with a 30 minute jog but as far as I know, she hasn't. But all in all, I think she's great. She is the only person I can stand to watch repeatedly. She seems like a really sincere, nice person too. I've been sick for over 4 weeks and haven't been able to exercise so I'll probably ease back into with some of her walking. I find its the best way for me to go when I've been ill. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I love Leslie's Tapes I have Leslie's 3 and 4 mile dvd's. Usually I do the 3 mile dvd 6 days a week, unless I feel really energetic one day, then I might choose to do the 4 mile or jog along at a faster pace to the 3 mile dvd instead of doing the walking workout.
Leslie's chatter keeps me motivated enough to keep going the whole 40-60 minutes without stopping, whereas just walking/jogging on my own to music or the tv just makes me bored and I end up stopping after 20 minutes or so. I suppose it makes me feel like someone's there with me.

I just did the 1 mile with the weights and I felt like it did me more good than my usual 3 mile walk I do outdoors. I'll have to try the 2 mile tomorrow.
